I have around 200-ish hours on my printer over the last 10 months. up until about a week ago, everything was working flawlessly.
I have been working on a large project over the last few weeks and have had multiple prints fail due to what I thought was adhesion issues. I have had problems with the first layer peeling/warping and most recently clumping up around the nozzle. I have tried everything I know and several fixes on the forum but have not had improvement.
I am printing with Bambu PETG HF using the stock profile and the gold textured PEI plate I received with the printer. I have reduced the printing speed for my project for tall parts.
Tried so far:
- Cleaned bed (Dawn, hot water, and Sponge)
- Wiped bed periodically with iso
- New hot end nozzle
- Multiple leveling calibrations
- Confirmed screw tightness on rear of hot end
I have yet to try:
- Re-tram bed (last done a few months ago)
- New build plate
I printed 2 first layer test sheets shown below (one on each side of build plate) using the PETG HF, the filament was freshly dried and came out of the dry box at 23%. Both appear to have good adhesion on the bottom of the print, however the top is very rough with almost a sand paper feeling.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

This is generally cause but two factors, poor adhesion or improperly calibrated filament.
Your first picture shows signs of both.
The red arrow points to a very common area to have issues as this is generally where you grab the plate and your fingerprint is left. The other “whitish” areas are also areas where adhesion is a problem.
Your second picture looks better adhesion wise but there is pretty sever over extrusion. To remedy this you need to manually calibrate your filament. Bambu has a wiki article that will walk you through this using Bambu Studio.
I tried the filament calibration. It seemed to help when I reduced it -2.
I went back to the print I was struggling with before. Everything looked good for the first 2 layers, which is better success than I was having previously. When I got to the third layer I noticed it clumping up and failing, as shown below.
Between the bed tests in the first post and this I put the filament back in the dry box and ensured it was dry, so I do not believe this is a filament specific issue. Additionally, I cleaned the bed again scrubbing with a sponge and dawn.
The issue seems to occur on larger parts. Specifically more on the left half to 2/3 of the bed. So perhaps I need to try tramming the bed again.
I am going to run the first layer test from the previous post again once the bed cools and will post the results.
About a week ago BL pushed an update to the Studio app, it was forced and has broken many printers ability to print, mine included, but i have no idea if it caused any issues with an A1.
So some questions please if you could answer them

Any other brand of filament?
Is it default profile for BL PETG HF?
What is nozzle temp settings in your profile
what bed temp?
You said bed cleaned? Soap and hot water? Soap type?
To me the last pic points too nozzle temp issues, causing clumping around the nozzle and then dragging of the laid filament.
