Ever since the newest software, every single time I start a print on either of my H2D printers, it immediately goes into error saying the bed sensors detect something on the bed. There is nothing on the bed. I click ok issue resolved and it goes right on to print. EVERY SINGLE PRINT it does this.
to this happens just for the smooth plate, “carbon fiber” side. diamonds side gives no issues.
When the print starts, the printer detects contact between the nozzle and the bed. You can test this by initiating a homing sequence: as the bed moves upward, lightly touch the nozzle with a touch-enabled glove (to avoid burns), and the printer will immediately stop, as it detects contact between the nozzle and bed.
Most likely, one side of your build plate is making contact in some way, causing the printer to register this as nozzle-bed contact. If this occurs significantly outside the expected zero position, the printer will generate an error message.
The build plate never touches the nozzle. It stops about halfway up and declares an object is on the plate.
Dirty cameras? Clean them up and see if that solves the problem.
Well I decided I’d make a video of the failure since I was about to start a new print and for the first time of course it fired up and worked like it should instead of throwing the error. We’ll see what comes of it.
As @L0rdS474n already said, it might be a dirty camera.
The H2D uses the camera in the corner to detect remaining parts on the bed.
I sometimes use to wipe some filament strands off the plate when the printer is initializing and trigger the error due to that.
So I have 3 X1C’s and I have had the the dirty lidar camera issue there. A little alcohol and a microfiber rag and it was resolved. But like I said above, I went to make a video of the H2D and it didn’t do it. It hasn’t done it since. Apparently it read my post and decided to get in line. (sarcasm!) Odd, but whatever I’m happy it went to working properly.
