This guy has a very different perspective on the matter. Instead of going minimalist, he goes maximalist:
to provide a lot of extra storage and just space generally to make your life easier. Included in that are sliding platforms to give easy access to the back of your printer. Personally, I think a lazy susan would be better? He claims his is very sturdy when locked into place. Not sure if there’s a lazy susan that can be likewise locked so that it can be equally sturdy.
However, I think what he completely missed was shelving above the printer, for holding things like AMS or dry boxes for feeding into your printer without having to rest it on top of your printer. In particular, giving a straight as possible a path for either TPU or brittle filaments would be a win.
