I have a model I’m designing and I’d like to “beta test” it before officially releasing it. Is there a way to do a limited release of a model that, perhaps, is limited to private feedback only or similar to iron out any “bugs” before a full/official release?

Short answer:
No.
Longer Answer.
You could upload it and pull it down later, however, there are rules against purposely uploading models only to pull it down later.
These relate mostly to those doing a “release here for free for a short period, later to put it behind a paywall.”
While yours is not that, you may be seen in the same light.
There is no opportunity for limited exposure either.

you can yes, there is an option section when you upload models wich is written test. then you could put the main title as well as BETA TEST followed by the name of your model 
but the model would still be released from the first day
Another option is to “Beta” release to members of the forum.
@Josh-3D did this with good success with his Spools.
I did this before but the algorithm punishes it for not getting enough conversions, I do not recommend it if you care about a good launch.
