Beware uploading Print Profiles

I just had about 80% of my print profiles taken down.

Half of them were from models that had no existing print profile to begin with, so I added the one I used to print.

The other half were profiles to fix issues or remove supports and improvements like that.

I usually upload my own profile if I have to make changes to get it to print better or successfully so I can easily go back and print it from maker world again if I have to and also to help others who may want the same improvements.

I appealed all 12 of my take downs and they were all denied. Apparently they were all considered “duplicate profiles with no substantial changes”.

According to the appeal denial message, all of these settings are unacceptable reasons to upload your own profile:

Changing:
Support type
Support settings
Orientation
Infill pattern
Wall thickness
Overhang settings
Layer height
Layer thickness
Infill percentage

So thank you for making makerworld a safer place bambu. By discouraging users to participate, soon you won’t have many left uploading models or profiles.

Between this and their unwillingness to address or fix the taped spool issue, the shine from bambu Labs has been tarnished in my eyes.

I’m more annoyed for the blatant disregard of people time and efforts by using bots to take down and dismiss the work of their users. The negative balance doesn’t bother me much as I have no use for the points because Ive stopped buying bambu filament due to 60% of the rolls causing the tape to jam my ams units when they run out.

They are no longer the company from 3 years ago and are now in the process of enshitification. I firmly believe all their appeal responses and initial flags were automated. No reasonable human would have flagged or written that appeal message.

So unless you guys like having a negative balance, maybe don’t upload that print profile next time

It’s kind of funny, because I’m trying to get a profile removed that someone else made for one of my models, and it’s nonsense: no real photos, only change is the line height to 0.08 (doubling the print time to +20h) despite the title state 0.2

Reported it a couple of times… still there.
Maybe I’m missing something… but why designers aren’t allowed to just delete profiles on their own models?

Because it’s like this. That’s just how the system works here at the moment. You can be sure that there would be enough ‘designers’ who would then delete everything so that they don’t have to give up even the few points. And of course this brings other disadvantages.
