Big flaw on the H2D

Trying to change my wi-fi antenna… nigh on impossible. Some of the parts are so small and fiddly it’s a real struggle.

Bear in mind I’m not the youngest anymore so my eyesight isn’t the best and you’ll need to factor in my massive ‘coalminer hands’ but mounting the wifi cable back onto the the board seems to defy me. Worried about breaking something too. Been at it for several hours now without any success. Surely there’s got to be a more user-friendly way of doing this.

The instructions are ok, had to improvise a few things and the process is massively complex, more than it should be imo (shouldn’t have to disassemble half the printer just to change the wifi antenna) but getting the antenna back onto the board… I dunno… USB is looking like a pretty damn good option right now.

Just wait until you need to replace your hotend cooling fan…

You need to use impedance-matched connectors when working with RF. USB wouldn’t cut it (and its not even coaxial).

You can fit the connector to the flat end of a pen with double-sided tape and press it down vertically on the board.
