I’ve been having occasional issues with Bambu Labs PLA Matte. Occasional = usually with a bit more detailed prints with lots of small areas, but sometimes also on huge parts that are made out of e.g. 40cm long layer lines.
Printed the CaliLantern to check for any skew issues but instead I was again greeted by these big seam gaps. I’ve seen them only on the PLA Matte so far (Matte has been my main filament for gifts etc). Been using other PLAs from Redline Filament which worked fine without gaps like that. I wonder why the Bambu stuff does this. But I would love to stay with Bambus stuff just for convenience.
I had this happen with Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer. But I’m mainly using Orca now.
Stock 0.4mm nozzle of the X1C
Standard 0.20mm preset, stock Bambu PLA Matte Material preset and a K-Factor of 0.015 (if I remember right I calibrated that a while ago automatically with Bambu Studio and the Lidar, but doing it manually today via Orca showed 0.015 is still correct), I did use the “Flow calibration via Lidar before print” option for the CaliLantern and I’m also using the Textured PEI Plate, I haven’t seen it causing issues yet, but maybe it ruined the K-Value for this print?.
The spool is inside my AMS, I added extra desiccants that keeps the inside of the AMS at around 25-30% humidity (not perfect but better than the 60-70% in the room).
Most of the gaps line up with the layer seams in the slicer and some are like inverted, it has a gap everywhere with no seam directly on the gap but a few mm next to it. But the moment when there is no seam near those parts its perfectly printed. Could this be some sort of clog? Or do prints like that need different seam gap settings?
I printed a 5 hour window-fan duct part yesterday which was perfect except those gaps too. The seams where almost fully open (Also PLA Matte, Red this time). I do not have a photo of that one handy right now. Also same here, the gaps line up perfectly with the seams.
