What a pity @BambuLab
I really like the matte finish of your PETG-HF, especially black, grey or dark grey.
Scrolling through the forum it seems to be a long lasting, never ending, constantly repeating PROBLEM. Not only for the USandA, but also for the rest of the world.
Whether it’s black friday deals’ week(s) or not: I’d like to buy some or even more spools - but I’m not able to do so.
What a pity.
I got every filament i wanted, including petg-hf during this sale. Sounds like you’re too slow.
Does it? Is blaming the customer really a good advice in front of empty shelfs? Even as a customer yourself?
So your advice is to hoard on the first day as much as my budget allows me to do? Doesn’t sound appealing to me.
It’s been 3 weeks. Shelves were full, do you expect unlimited supply?
Supply has always been low considering the demand for it.
They need to keep a higher stock. It always sells out during these sales.
Actually, yes. I expect essentially unlimited supply. When I shop for most other products, they are always available when I need them. Running out is a sign of a problem. And Bambu Lab is losing sales. They should also clearly see that as a problem. They should never be wanting to send customers to their competitors.
Never happen. BL doesn’t manufacture their filament. Some guess it’s Sunlu, others think it’s someone else. My guess is they have more than one supplier.
I think you underestimate buyers. If I have to resource I do, but then buy BL again. There’s no law saying we have to use BL. Hell, even the BL profiles work with Anycubic or Elegoo. Sunlu has it’s own profiles as does other like Overture and Polymaker.
Of course though, throw shade if it makes you feel better.
BTW, Elegoo and Anycubics PETG work very well, comparable to BL. Sunlus as well but use their profiles for PETG.
Should it always be in stock? 100%. I managed retail for 20 years and 100% in stocks are not a reality.
I have spent quite a bit on Bambu PETG-HF and Silk PLA Plus and PLA Basic in the sales. Also had 5 refills free from Bambu. But the last lot did not have that much to choose from, and I have not had any problems with any of them.
I don’t expect 100% in stocks. But empty shelfs in the PETG HF section with ETA’s going to mid december doesn’t sound like good planning. It rather sounds like “the good old days behind the iron curtain”.
Be it a sale or not - that’s simply disgusting. Whoever the supplier may be.
What’s more disgusting: this doesn’t happen for the first time.
I’m not arguing with you at all. I’ve only had an issue with this sale.
I guess you would be really discussed with the 24 months I had to wait for my truck.
I feel your pain. one thing to keep in mind is that they use suppliers, like @R3d-Five said. For black friday, many companies are relying on those same suppliers. Each company probably gets a specific allocation during this time. The trick for the future will be to plan ahead and be fast when the sale drops. Also plan on buying enough to last a while. Sorry if this isnt helpful but I do feel your pain.
@Steve_KA5YFC imagine the folks still waiting on the tesla roadster 2 lol. We will have thorium cars before they see keys.

, but buying filament is surprisingly frustrating — especially during “discount season”.

I’ve been trying to buy six spools or refills of basic PLA for over three weeks now, and it’s impossible because they’re always out of stock.
It was the same with PETG HF, so I bought three Sunlu spools on Aliexpress, delivered in five days and priced at €10.50 per spool (with the new reusable spools). Cheaper, available, and the quality is as good as BL. I think I’ll do the same with PLA. It’s becoming tiresome that BL isn’t able to keep adequate stock.
I have the same problem. It’s really annoying that I can’t buy filament. I’ve also started looking at AliExpress. But then why do I need an AMS that recognizes filament? It seems I’ve become too lazy

it seems that the shop is on low tide for almost every filament, with ETA ranging from 3 to 5 days , up to 1 month.
black friday + end of year offers must have cleared some stock
I don’t know if it’s the same in every country, but here in France companies are taxed on the value of their stock, hence massive sales before inventory to reduce taxes, and makes customers happy 
I’m delaying my order for small bit I need to add a few rolls in order to reach the free shipping
I’ve been waiting weeks to order PLA Matte White and some others. It was supposed to be restocked today, but after refreshing the screen throughout the day the date has suddenly been moved on another week. 
I just gave up waiting and sent my order for the parts, I’ll get some filament later, but need the hot end back cover
They really shoot themselves in the foot with filament availability issue. I love using Bambu filament and the official spools, and I also sell prints. I don’t mind paying the premium for convenience. I would like to use Bambu filament to sell prints, however, when I built a product around the OG PLA tough they promptly discontinued it…. then I used PETG HF and liked it…. but then they can’t keep it in stock.
So now I prototype with Bambu filament and production print with Sunlu. BL is leaving so much money on the table with the availability issues and quickly discontinuing or changing product lines. It’s been 2 years how have they not solved it yet? I would order triple the amount I normally order if it were trustworthy and I knew I wouldn’t be high and dry unable to get more for weeks.

I’ve been using PETG HF since around November or early December and love the stuff. But I was a bit annoyed that I had to make 2 orders in order to get the colors I wanted because only certain colors were available the first time, while others were backordered. Then when those were available, the others were no longer in stock. I ended up having to order some colors that I didn’t necessarily want in order to get the bulk order discounts.
Now I need more of my most used colors but they’re all out of stock. Even worse, only black shows up with a refill option. I’m not quite sure if they’re no longer offering PETG HF in refills because the refill button is completely missing from all but black. Before, it would at least let you ask to be notified when back in stock when you’d select an out of stock refill button.
Has this happened before?
