I just came back from vacation, looking forward to place my Black Friday filaments order. But right now all I can select is black/grey PLA and some PETG translucent. Does that mean everything is “sold out” and they will restock one day after BF is over? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

You are unfortunately to late, the availability was simiply going down without restocking.
I was struggeling with my order at few days in the first November week and as I finally ordered, I didn‘t got all the clolors I placed in my basket few days before…
Ah ok thanks. Originally I also wanted to order in the first week but many filament were out of stock with ETA on restocking a few days later, so I thought they would add them eventually. Oh well, there are many other brands with same/better quality and equal prices, helps me save money instead of ordering more than I actually need. Just some Bambu Green would have been nice but I will find others :D.
The sale started on October 28th and ran for well over a month.

Back in my day Black Friday was only one day… and you had to stand in line at 3am outside of Kmart just to get a shot at buying one of the three available Cabbage Patch Kids. That was if you didn’t get trampled.

I know, but at the beginning many colors were not yet in stock and then I would not be able to pick up the shipment due to vacation, so decided to order once I am back since BF is officially running until tomorrow. But I get it, they have to limit the stock to keep people from stocking up too much and not buying when there are no sales ongoing. In the end I am glad that I didn’t do the bulk purchase since there are meanwhile many other brands with even better deals, so will look elsewhere. Just hoping the H2S goes on sale soon, is there usually a “end of the year” or “new year” sale happening as well? 
And I hear it was actually on a Friday, and only once per year… how crazy! At this point honestly I have no idea what a BF is, it feels like there is one at least every month going for 4 weeks

I don’t really care about Black Friday. I’ve waited for the availability date several times now - again today. The matte white and matte black filament should be available again today, December 3. I tried all day, but at first it wasn’t available, then suddenly the availability date was December 8. No chance of ordering anything. I’m slowly starting to feel like I’m being fooled. Bambu builds printers with filament recognition that only recognize their own filament, and then it’s not available for weeks. If I could at least order it and then wait some weeks, but no, I have to wait until December 8 to be fooled again.

Thankfully the printer/ams has no issue printing 3rd filament and it is easy to setup and use. Bambu’s RFID system is convenient but it is not a show stopper.

How so? Does AMS support any other brands?
Yes, you can use almost any filament. I’ve only found one company that the spools were too big to close the lid. They recommend against cardboard spools but I use them all the time too. The only thing the RFID does is automatically set the color and filament type. If you use other brands you just set it manually on the printer or on the PC/App.
Of course. AMS supports* any filament that physically fits the AMS. Nothing is locked down to Bambu filaments. Sunlu, polymaker, esun, prusament and whatever other hundreds of brands exist all work. But this not only applies to ams, to the printer itself too. You have total freedom to use any branded filament.
It is true, BL printers only recognise their own filaments. The printers can use other filaments, but those are not recognised, you have to manually enter the details each and every time you drop one in.
As you say, that is not automatically recognising those filaments.

Can you please describe what is factually incorrect? Can the Bambu RFID filament recognition recognize other filament brands?
Of course I know that I can use every filament in Bambu printers - it’s just a normal filament printer. But that’s not what I wrote.
So buy a different brand of filament?

Oh, come on guys. No one is surprised that Bambu is developing a proprietary RFID system for detecting filament, but then can’t deliver the matching proprietary RFID filament rolls?
Of course, I’ll get the filament somewhere else now; I don’t want to wait forever for Bambu to be able to deliver. I just find the business idea behind it absurd. It’s like a printer manufacturer that can’t deliver ink cartridges.
I would have liked to buy from Bambu and put money in their pockets, but they won’t let me. I don’t get it.
