Never mind
That example photo of the air filter is horrible! You certainly want to reduce the number 90 degree turns in your ducting! I count five turns in that system that would really hinder air flow…
The angles are probably due to the need to fit the printer and purifier in the same photo frame. Moving the purifier further away should get rid of the 90 degree angles.
That is probably true.
Although that looks like a 4 inch pipe. The corners will not have a significant effect on the airflow.
A 4" pipe is what I use on my dedicated laser, and those angles will have a much greater impact on the air flow than you would expect (speaking from experience here).
Experience is important. I am making my assumption based on my knowledge of fluid mechanics. Not saying anyone is wrong but some insight is important.
The bends in the pipe are considered a minor loss. While the friction in the pipe is considered a major loss. The two big equations that you are using are the Darcy-Wisbech equation and the Bernoulli Principle.
The bends do not make that much of a difference in this case because the pressure head is a factor mainly relying on the density and the velocity of the air. With the density of air being so low. You need an huge change in the velocity or the loss coefficient to make a noticeable difference.
Though there are a lot of bends there, they are relatively gradual.
The most impactful loss in this system is the use of a corrugated pipe because of the friction loss around the outside. This causes a shrinking of the hydraulic diameter because a cushion layer and excessive turbulence are being caused. Realistically, a smooth pipe would increase the flow efficiency the most.
Although, I am making the assumption that the Air velocity is somewhere around 1000 FPM. Which is considered low. If the air flow is closer to 4000 then I am wrong, the static pressure would ruin the system.
TLDR; The bends do not make that big of a difference, but changing out the original pipe for a smooth one will improve performance drastically.
Stop it, you are just setting me up to get my posts flagged.
Don’t
I didn’t fall for it this time.
It would have been good though.
On todays episode…

I don’t see any filament deals on the site for black friday / cyber monday - can you share what we’re to expect on that front as well?
I’d seen that and was mostly hoping for more specifics, as I print primarily with CF/GF filaments, and they usually aren’t discounted much if at all, regardless of the season - just hoping I might get lucky is all ![]()
Getting lucky, you say?![]()

I bought an AMS-HT on 10/15. It’s estimated shipping date is 10/28.
Lucky me.
I wonder what these include though?
I would like PC and PLA Wood to be on sale. And MAYBE they can even convince me to buy PPS-CF or PPA-CF…
Another question is are they gonna be able to keep stock during the whole duration of the sale lol
I imagine they will, last years sale was extensive.
Unless they have made a significant change in their supply chain… PETG-HF is going to be gone in hours
@JonRaymond why did you misuse the flagging rules to remove all the information about the giveaway not being as advertised?
Censorship is bad, why are you censuring facts?
Everything I said was factual and you suppressed it.
The fact that two people took my statements out of context didn’t make what I said was wrong.
It seems like an abuse of power.
Reinstate them or my concerns of censorship are warranted.
This is a public forum.
Will this also be censored
We are told there are 20 printers to win, but there are not. Based on where you live and its territory.
Winning a printer is a good thing, giving them away is a nice thing, this has nothing to do with either.
The contest for 20 printers is being purposefully misrepresented and this is only known if you go to the terms and conditions.
Depending on which territory you live, you have a much lower chance of winning that you are told in headline figures.
- US 7 chances
- EU 7 chances
- UK 2 chances
- CA 2 chances
- AU 1 chance
- Asia 1 chance
You never get 20 chances as you tell you.
(Language purposely simplified because words are hard I am told).
So, imagine you are in the U.K. like I am, you are told there are 20 printers to win and nothing else.
In reality, there are just 2 printers to win.
That is ten times less opportunities to win than you were told.
Winning is free, it costs nothing to enter, so are they taking anything from you, yes, the truth.
Lying by hiding the facts is lying.
Being censured for stating facts is something else entirely.
The terms and conditions that show this that I was reliably informed “people do not read”, which is why being informed is important.
A bit off-topic, but I also did notice in the past that @JonRaymond was flagging the content where he was criticized and didn’t like to see.
@BambuLab please look into this with a more detail. Censoring public forum may be a bad PR stunt that you may not want to see.
