Boost for Boost Requests via DM

This could be done in automated database queries with simple logic attached.

I suggested something a while ago that would apply a trustworthiness factor to each user which could be incremented as new users performed everyday ordinary tasks and then decremented if something looks concerning.

Then they run exception reports to flag those that look suspicious and determine if there is an issue or a false positive set of circumstances.

Hi Uhl, thank you for your inquiry. We recommend submitting a ticket or reporting these users, as such requests violate our community guidelines and are seen as attempts to manipulate our system. If we determine that their actions are harmful to our community, we will take appropriate measures against their accounts.

Scammers gonna scam no matter how much you rule against it they’ll find the loopholes to wiggle through. Reporting seems to be the best option here, only because automated systems are going to catch a heap of honest people who are liking each others work. If you ask me the whole monetising rewards thing makerworld has was always going to attract this crowd and its got to the point where its pointless to put up barriers against it. I’m jaded enough to have taken my stuff off here and only come here as I’m passionate about printing.

MW mentioned risk control system/strategies in various posts. That seems to be what they are building and counting on to combat cheating.

It’s going to be an arms race between this system and cheaters. I don’t think MW is winning the race so far. MW could have had the upper hand if they granted the privilege of upload/download/print only to accounts that were used to purchase a BL printer, or accounts that are bound to a mobile phone number (for users without a BL printer). But MW has gone the other way by allowing non-login downloads.

This reminds me: was there an outcome to the feedback to MW, to display the raw downloads count in analytics (vs the filtered download count that we are seeing now)?

I am going to say with this comment, “If we determine that their actions are harmful to our community, we will take appropriate measures against their accounts.” they know its happen and not willing to weed them out.

I would assume that if it affects their profit making, that will be when they take action.

This states they agree the stated actions are something they consider worthy of action.

I read that as a general “what we do with reports” statement rather than them reversing course on the previous sentence that clearly stated it was a violation.
