Most people actually don’t know what boosting a model does and I just found out after I posted my first model and realised that I had it wrong previously and wonder if that is why people don’t boost my model.

this is interesting… leecher side only, I gave all my first booster to a dude who had w40k models, lately disappeared (don’t worry i downloaded all the stuff preventively)
so this dude disappeared in thin air, it seemed a sort of a waste not seeing a sort of progress, after that I have just noticed I have a streak of 18 expired boosters

It’s algorithmic social media juice to the platform, company scrip to the contributor, and an ikea effect enhancer to all parties to psychologically make you more attached to the things you print
Most of us have been around way before boosts. Really, no offense, I don’t care about them. Nice to get, I give to prints I use/like. That’s where it ends.
That is all day one information which has changed at least twice since.
For example, you can get 3 boosts per week and they expire after a month, it was 1 per week and a week expiry at launch.
Who you give them to now factors in if you get more, how and what you print, plus the print time also factors in, these values have greatly changed since launch.
The boost system has always been a joke. They started it just to give the established makers more points. Now they say they want to give “quality” (and their examples) more exposure. Well my boosts have never been good, but now it’s a ghost town for my points. 2 days and 3.75 for profiles that haven’t had points in forever. Nothing else.
Not everyone knows that it gives the designer 30 makerworld points but it actually means with 200 boosts I can buy a p1s and with just 20 I can get a £35 gift card which means the world to me so I can get a new build plate and extension springs for the breeze buddy pro which would sell well at school and I was wondering why I only have 2 boosts on my model I worked hard on when heavy bambu users get 3+ a week and I think it is because some people don’t realise what it gives me.
