I have noticed if I boost a model I now no longer receive points for the boost. Is there something I missed, has BL change the awarding of points?

I believe this was a temporary incentive, so most likely itās now just to show somebody gratitude for a nice model without getting something in return
It was discontinued as part of an updaate more than two weeks ago. Below is part of the announcement:
Yeah, I believe they still aware points to the designers, but the sender of the boost no longer gets a cutā¦which makes it less motivating to remember to send them when you have them, but it still helps the designers
Itās to disincentivize people just using their boost on the first trending thing they see for free points, now you have a lot longer to decide on who you boost, and it acts as a tip for a great creation
People that donāt want to use them wonāt, but people who do, will use boosts on stuff they actually like ![]()
I think they could generally provide this info somewhere present on the point site when something is changed.
I was also surprised back then when no more points arrived after boosts had been given.
Similar to the day before yesterday, when I rated a few of my prints in one go and suddenly had 35 points more in my account. I guess the āRate Print-Profileā pool was reset? In any case, I can earn up to 50 points with it again, even though it had actually been closed for months.
But these are all things that pass you by. This should really appear as a short, red info panel at the top of the page to click away or something similar.
Are you one of āthoseā people who thinks communication is lacking, that maybe we should be provided with pertinent information about what is and isnāt happening, when something is being included and when it has been withdrawn and in the place it is relevant.
What kind of sicko are you?
I ask, because Iām the same.
LOL Iām the sicko who is trying to scrape a few points together that will allow me to buy some spares for my printers. Every point counts and I take my time deciding who to award my precious boost points to. I look at the simple practical designs mainly to encourage aspiring designers and newbies to try their hand at creating new content.
Not worried about how pretty it looks, just look if it does what it is designed for and if it is a practical solution. With Makerworld the option is there to allow other people to use your working practical model and make it pretty and more pleasing to the eye.
Youāll receive 2 Boost-Tokens (for printing), not 2 Points for giving Boost-Tokens ⦠that is a difference ![]()
One of the really tough ones ![]()
Iāve only been in Bambulab-land since August. Iāve loved it here from the start and have recommended it to everyone I know (as long as they have something to do with 3D printing, of course :D)
Now Iāve been bogged down in the support ticket jungle for 2 weeks with obvious bots and the same old text modules, I read across the forum where there are shortcomings everywhere and yes ⦠There are already abysses opening up ![]()
At the beginning I didnāt even know about the points - and then what to do with them. I just made two remixes because I had fun with it. Now I understand the war thatās going on around these points ā¦
So yes - more communication would definitely help. Beside a faster/better support of course ![]()
(by the way - I like your postings here
)
i have hard time finding models i would like to print - if i do i gladly give boosts to them
You are correct, read and read again. LOL
You would have got a notification on MakerWorld or Bambu Handy under the āSystemā category. Maybe you missed it?
Also, regarding ratings, again, itās explained pretty clearly if you click the rules icon on the points page in the app or hover over the (i) icon on the website (pretty standard UI) :

If you noticed you got points a few days ago, that coincides with the start of the new month.
Probably - although I also rarely read any text walls. And I donāt think Iām the only one. A one-time info panel (which you can simply close forever with an X once youāve read it) with
āHey, from now on there are no more 2 points for awarding boost tokensā on the points page would probably reach more people and cause less confusion.
I never actually read any announcements because most of it doesnāt interest or affect me. I would also never read something like a newsletter ![]()
I didnāt say the info was nowhere to be found. After wondering about it, I opened the boost rules and couldnāt find it, so I assumed that it had disappeared on purpose and that was that. Nevertheless, it could be highlighted better.
