Now that you mention it, I also haven’t been issued any new boosts since early March… though I also haven’t been printing much.
sincerely, I think we can deduce that the change in the impulse system was merely an excuse to reduce the number of impulses that are distributed, although they said that this would not be done, it is what is seen in the statistics.
Perhaps we should follow this users format. They raked in 15 boosts in the past 24-ish hours.
An account with a single model with those boosts already… And some users are not even getting their downloads counted for weeks. Great
If nothing changes I think we are going to find out really quick where the line is for uploading designs for free. I’m on pace to average 50% less gift cards this month.
Same. It looks like the number of prints and downloads for me haven’t changed or are maybe a little higher but the points are about half. But I also haven’t had a popular item lately.
That’s what’s happened to me, last token received was on March 17 so I’ve used them all up before they expired. Previously I was always getting two a week, I thought under the new rules I would have managed at least one a week.
I have received 3 tokens every week since the change. It is rare for me to boost something that I don’t print. And I boost models with a wide range of complexity levels. Not sure how their algorithm works.
As far as the boosts that my models receive, I would say it has gone down a bit, but that may be more due to the lifecycle of my models than the change in how boosts are awarded.
I can report I received zero tokens this week so (unsurprisingly) you still need more engagement than a single download/boost to be eligible for new tokens.
Hurray! For the first time in months i got a single Boost Token. ONE! Last week alone i printed more than 60 hours of some quick and some long models. All of that for 1 boost.
Well, back to LAN mode i go.
Sadly when i print someone model in LAN mode it will not count for them as printed but in reality it’s not my fault.
Another monday and another zero tokens for me.
It’s a pity that there is no possibility to transfer a few points to someone as a token of gratitude (apart from boosts).
I received 3 boosts today (@ 1:30 pm my time (CET)) for printing around 8 or 9 multi-hour prints, each ranging from 1 to 11 hours. I also gave out the single boost I received last week.
I must have jinxed myself. I haven’t received any new boost tokens since I wrote this (3 weeks).
Today, one week later, I received two more tokens — without printing, boosting, rating, or commenting on anything during that time. The system seems very unpredictable.
I’m not sure I printed anything from makerworld this last week and I received 3. I’m fairly active though. Overall. It seems like they are trying to slowly turn down the rewards.
Forget “slowly turn down”… the brakes have been slammed! Here are charts of my boosts (blue) vs. prints (red) over the last ~5 weeks. Boost volume per week is down by over 60% compared to late March for me, while print velocity has remained largely unchanged.
It looks similar for me. More prints, fewer boosts
ah and by the way, for me an absolutely new piece of information: You can give a creator a maximum of 5 boosts per year.
The other day I wanted to give my boosts to someone I like to support because I like his work and then the message came up.
oh wow. That’s actually wild. So the “community” you build can’t even support you.
Bit of a loaded statement though, don’t you think? I mean, given that n equals 1… and who’s to say that people that used to boost you receive less boost to give out? Maybe they just started boosting the “more complex” models now; whatever their motivation to do so. Anyways, it’s apples and oranges… @thatcaddad was saying
…which is referring to boost tokens that he’s received to give out (i.e., apples). You on the other hand are talking about boosts you’ve received from users who have boosts to give out (i.e., oranges).
Here’s another n=1… my boosts in the last two months are twice of what they used to be the three months prior to that. Can’t comment on anything before that really because I’ve only been active on here for about half a year. I’m talking oranges here, boosts from users.
As far as apples, haven’t seen any from MW in the last couple of weeks. I’m also one of the people who had a handful of boosts expire (I know… evil, right) because I couldn’t find anything I thought of a boost-worthy. Also, don’t think I’ve printed enough this month to really get any boosts from MW.
yearly limit was implemented maybe a year ago
