I am new to this world (less than 6 months). I bought a P1S during the black Friday sale with the AMS. I had set it up in the middle of December sometime and was printing away and everything was super smooth. I had a jam in the AMS with Bambu filament and now my AMS isn’t recognized by my printer. I have taken it apart, checked everything for jams, checked all connections to make sure they were all plugged in and put it back together. I also changed out the 6-pin connector since I had an extra on hand. Nothing has worked. I even shut down and unplugged the printer and disconnected everything and did a hard reset on it and started over like it was new. Nothing has worked. Can anyone help me? I was going to submit a ticket, but they want a recording of what is wrong and its kind of dumb to send a recording of something that is not on. And nowhere is there a place to type the problem and all of the stuff I have tried. While i may be new to 3D printing, I am pretty good with mechanical stuff. Any suggestions would be wonderful. I don’t even know if I am putting this in the correct place. I did place this in the community of makerworld and got a response that the buffer might possibly be bad. So I have it off the printer but not really sure how to check it. Thank you for any help.
I recommend opening a ticket with support. But it sounds like the current draw from the ams motor stalling caused the board to fry. But since the board is powered from the printer, maybe it could be the buffer on the printer or the board on the ams, or… If you have a multimeter you can start by checking power delivery at each of the boards.
But support will make you do it all over again before they send a replacement, so may as well go through them unless you are just wanting to buy parts till you fix it.
I did do the checks in the troubleshooting steps and the readings all checked out until the very final step. So I did put in a support ticket. I was waiting on my multimeter to show up from good ole amazon so that I could do the readouts. Thank you. I will reply again once I get an answer.
