When I slice a model with inlaid text or other shapes, and then put them face down so the inlay is inverted creating a hollow space, the slicer fills the space with walls, and then concentric infill. Because there is no anchor for the bridge, it fails. The walls fail too because the bridging there also does not start above the model, but also starts in mid-air.
Is there a setting I need to change so that I can use bridging instead of trying to use supports?
Here you can see an example model, viewed from below. Notice the concentric blue bridges that are not anchored to a wall.
In the following two views from above, with the layer view brought down to the height of the bridge, and the layer below it, you can see again that the blue bridges are not laid on top of a previous layer, and so fail:
