Broken Plastic/Rubber Part @ P2S: help identify

I just finished a print and on the print plate I found a small black plastic rubber thingy. I tried to look for missing/broken stuff, but couldnt spot it.


Any chance anyone knows what it is and what I need to buy/repair?

I had the same with mine. Support told me to buy a new heating assembly. So far I haven’t noticed any problems with the part missing. Should keep the cable in position but they are so short there isn’t any movement anyway.

So does this appear to be a design or manufacture issue? From man1ac’s photos I thought it looked like maybe the wires had snagged but the photo from seahawk137 that doesn’t seem to be the issue. Is it getting hot and brittle?

It’s pretty clear that yes, there’s a manufacturing problem with this. I’ve only got 300 hours of printing on the P2S, with PETG, 255–260 °C… this is a huge pain to happen at this time, all the holidays with the machine down.

The A1 has a similar footer. IMO it’s doing its job, guiding wires without sharp corners or heat transfer. It’s a similar material as the nozzle sock, but a harder durometer. It’s closer and more exposed to the heater element than the sock is so its gonna be sacrificial. That being said, I havent had them fall apart on their own ever, only when I was also unscrewing stuff and already noodling around. Do you think yours self-destructed, or did it fall out when maintaining?

same issue happened to me tonight, less than 300 hours.

mostly printing with PLA, tried PETG for the first time tonight and it clumped up at the nozzle, while I was cleaning it the rear sock disintegrated into pieces

ich drucke seitdem ohne das kleine teil hab es mit Hochtemparatur Silikon einen tropfen drauf gemacht und hält schon seit zahlreichen drucken ohne Probleme.
