BTT Power Supply ....thoughts....opinions

I was looking for something entirely unrelated and the trusty Amaon algorithm stuck this in the long list of hits.
Seems risky.
The way it looks to me they are scavenging power by way of an AMS socket. Wonder if their light strip device has been causing problems so they come in a different way

I think you’ve discovered their secret. Honestly I feel like each “upgrade” they come out with is partially to fix a problem the pervious upgrade created.

Don’t buy that. Just walk away.

They have a caution about pulling power from that port.

Those are from awhile back. I’ve been pulling directly with a tap for a year with no issues. It’s just that tap (can find on etsy) is better implemented. 2 24v switchable plugs. Run lights and a bento off it.

The thing is the Branch isn’t that useful unless you want those usb ports, ,but you can buy a tap with USB as well.

I have ZERO intention of buying one. If I need more power, I have half a dozen power strips in my garage.
I saw that and thought about PT Barnum and There’s a Sucker Born Every Minute

Well, yeah I was. Thanks for pointing it out.

Yeah @Wsquared58, thanks a lot. Don’t ask me how little I like their next product because I ain’t gonna tell you!

BTT just seems to slap this stuff together with no real concern for how well it will work over the long run.
I bought that Panda Touch and the light kit some I’m right in that group. Like that light kit. I don’t know if you bought one or have seen the kit but that’s a recipe for trouble and I can’t help but think they knew full well what they made, the risk it caused, but just didn’t care if some P1S user damages his printer. That’s between Bambu and the owner. I think you said you like the Panda Touch and I don’t think it’s bad, I just didn’t see that it brought much added value since I work out of my laptop.

It was a great marketing strategy when everyone spent a googly amount of time troubleshooting their printer rather than printing. So BTT is just trying to capture people who are having trouble with their Bambu Lab printer same as the market that built up around Creality.
