Two AMS 2 Pro’s. One on the left hot end and one on the vortek.
Issue: When setting up the ams units to auto detect which side they are aligned to, the filament stops at the ams internal hub, makes squealing noises, the spool jumps around as it attempts to pull filament in, and the end of the filament is chewed up. The ams auto detect then fails.
I assigned them manually after a few tries with different spools of filament. Full spools didn’t help. Loading for prints works just fine, the problem only happens when doing the ams auto detect. Can anyone confirm?
do you have a power supply on one of the two AMS? The H2C will only supply enough power for 1 unit to operate effectively. I know my second AMS did not load correctly until I added the power supply.
I didn’t need 2. Just the unit on the second AMS solved my issues. Make sure its on the second AMS from the printer. I plan to buy one for the second, just because I don’t trust/want to over tax the power supply of the printer.
It’s on the second one right now. Maybe I’ll try different bus cables. I figured it was a bug since that seems to be the only scenario where it happens.
Thanks. Sounds like an issue with my setup then. I’m going to swap bus cables today and see what happens. It’s possible I put one of the older ones on when setting up the AMS units.
