Build Plate Physics / Chemistry

Just a general question. I’m using the stock textured PEI plate. I see how it works, when the plate is heated the model sticks, when it’s cool, the model releases,

What is the physics or chemistry behind this? How does bed temperature cause the bed adhesion to change?

Is the same physics / chemistry behind bed adhesion on other surfaces, such as the cool or super-tack plates?

I may be wrong, but I think when the PEI plate is hot, it dilates more than plastic, which means that when it cools down, the plate contracts more/faster than plastic, which forces the plastic out.

I own the supertack and maybe there is a slight difference but i usually need to bend it or use the scraper for removing prints.
