Hi there, brand new owner of an H2S and have done a few prints that have turned out well. I have cancelled a print that had a couple of issues. One is that the layer lines aren’t aligned and are bumpy. I had read to slow down outer wall speed to increase quality but is it the reason the opposite has happened?

The weird indents around the cylinders occurred from adding modifier in bambu studio. I’ll just go back into fusion and make them separate bodies so that i don’t have to modify in studio. Unless someone has tips on how to keep that from happening? Unsure about the bumps in the layers though.
Bumps can be caused by moist filament. Another cause (which may be your issue) is using random seams under quality. Try aligned and see if they go away.
I also found the same issue with modifiers. I ended up pushing the modifier just below the surface and the issue went away. It’s kind of tedious getting the modifier set to the right length and set below surface but worked for me…

Thanks, I’ll try both. I just modified the original design and made them separate bodies in fusion but the same thing happened. The filament is PLA and ams is reading 12%.
This is your problem for the “zits”. Turn that to aligned, or paint a seam on, or anything but random

I second the moist filament diagnosis.
While moisture and seam position can cause the same general appearance, if you look closely at the photo this is random seam position. You can see the new layers at the point of issue. Mosiiture happens within the same layer line. One reason why good photos matter so good job on the photo!

You are right regarding the random seams not working well with the Bambu’s.
I focused on the moisture first though as that needs to be ruled out for troubleshooting and the OP, like most newcomers, probably did not yet come accross the fact that rolls are frequently saturated in transport as the bags only slow, but do not stop, moisture uptake. And AMS (air) humidity does not relate to filament moisture. It only inficates the current storing condition.
So as a more specific recommendation to @RossJordan
- Do not use random seams
- Dry the filament
- Calibrate Flow Dynamics

I’ll add some clarifications:
My post was answering original poster and not directed at anyone else. I’ve never had an issue with Bambu and random seems so no comment on that issue.
I didn’t say random seems don’t work well with Bambu. The image clearly shows its a random seem issue and that was my point.
While I believe the moisture topic has gotten overboard, yes, this should be a consideration But per the post and image the issue seems straight forward.
