Can these 4 pin sockets be used for TPU assist

With my H2C, I have 2x AMS2 Pro and 2 x AMS-HT- it’s a long daisy chain since there is only 1x 6 pin socket (why?)

Adding TPU assist means a cable across the back from one side of the printer to the other using the provided 6 pin to 4 pin adapter (and the cable that is too short) … However, I see 2 x 4pin sockets on the back, what are they for if not to feed a TPU assist - Wiki has nothing on this!

You use one of the four pin holes you have circled. It shows that on the wiki page…

Thanks,

Of course, IMHO it would have been nice to identify this on the back panel illustration page rather than hide it in a video. :face_with_peeking_eye:

Not trying to be a pain but that photo came straight from the assembly and installation page. It’s what I used when installed the module on each of my H2CS.

Ok my bad, you are not being a pain, but I find the Wiki instruction hard to follow when they jump between different printers. So, I understand the mounting of the TPU assist, and the PTFE tubes.

But I don’t understand what to do with the tube that otherwise dangles inside the printer.

  • Am I meant to disconnect one of the feeder tubes inside the head,
  • Install a 2:1 or 4:1 adapter to leave the TPU feed available.

I’ve seen some pictures of this, somewhere, but it’s not clear to me in the section you quote. You have done it do you mind clarifying for me please.

When you print TPU you are supposed to disconnect the dark PTFE tube from the buffer (leave it connected to the right nozzle) and push it through the hole in the back. Then connect it to the feed assist with that connector. The reason for using the right nozzle is that TPU breaks easily and the right nozzle is stationary while the left nozzle can move up and down. It’s on the wiki page but it isn’t real obvious:

You can see the dark tube coming out of the printer in the wiki photo with the red arrow pointing to it. But like I said, the wiki could show that better.

Just wanted to throw it out there that any of the 4 pin sockets, and the 6 pin using the adapter, can be used. I currently have it plugged into an ams with the adapter and it works great.

True. It’s only using the four pin plug for power.

Thanks, I wasn’t totally certain. My previous P2S had 2 - 6 pin sockets on the external filament buffer, Wiki had a warning not to use both unless it was for a “communication device or similar” I think things get lost in translation and certainly this could be put clearly in Wiki (with actual limitations if any) for each model.
