Yes, we should be allowed to put usernames into the blocked tags list.
So far I’ve managed to filter out a pretty huge amount of 3D printed garbage from my feed by removing
I’d like to be able to add Deltaprints to that list.
Well, that user isn’t the first and wont be the last. I’ve seen a string of similar guys like that, and they all follow the same basic approach. Mostly pumping out endless variations of housewares. Some are better than others. Each to their own, I suppose. There are people that get something out of that… so. I can judge, but I can only judge as far as my own personal taste.
I think it’d be more fruitful for us to be able to yeah, block certain user’s content from coming up in the feeds. I guess I could block them? But I’m not trying to personally block anyone, only clean up my feed so it doesn’t show content I really don’t care for. It’s hard to avoid guys like that, that pump out daily stuff. It floods the place. It’s frustrating and annoying.
I’m laughing my ass off! I’m currently trying out a new AI image generator. I actually just wanted the thing to create a mug out of white PLA material, like the one used in 3D printing. What it produced is an image of a 3D printed mug in white, with layer lines, looks like it was 3D printed and photographed. Should I quickly upload a picture like this and generate a 3d model for it … uhhhmmm sorry … of course I meant “create”, not “generate”.
Ok … another one …
More catwheels and less planters!
This is purely speculation, but it must bump it higher in the trending list as the developers may have put more weight in other people uploading profiles with actual pictures to your model. Again, just speculation.
Was coming to post exactly the same but you guys beat me. Beside the obvious low effort model and AI manipulation, using 2 accounts is considered cheating as it could promote boosting himself and point manipulation
Edit: i was looking at that Angelol and his latest 2 profiles and it seems he used the same picture as the creator but with AI manipulation to change the background. That’s even worse because the person who did the profile (if he is not the same) did not print the model at all
And
That’s not AI manipulation, that’s just different material & lighting used in rended settings, both are renders.
Not sure there are all render (at least the lightbox ones)
But those on the wood surfaces looks fake. The shadows are weird.
Trust me, i know, those are not renders. Check the details around the models and you will see what i mean. Current “AI” cannot do a fully perfect object because it interpolates several pictures and stitches what it thinks is appropriate. What i mean by background AI manipulation is when the software removes the background and fills it with whatever you ask him to do, in this case, a light wood top. Any Samsung phone does that and it’s still manipulation because it changed and added things in the background that otherwise were not there. If you need help i can give you all the details that are wrong in his pictures.
Just to add to this, i wasted enough time already and i am forced to see this ■■■■ on my front page until @MakerWorld decides that we can block it. About the creator, if Makerworld gave him verification and let’s him get away with this kind of showcase, there is nothing we can do except maybe try and do the same (although i think the first time one of us tries it, the model gets removed after a while, because we are little fish)
A verified user is not what you think. It only means that this user imported models from another platform by linking his account. That’s all
You’re right. The lightbox ones aren’t fake. The woodgrain is certainly faked.
It should be, yes, but not how it works. I know because i have several real world friends that are on makerworld and only 1 got that verification and that was because he had some social accounts with a high volume of followers. Otherwise he wouldn’t get it verified at all. We even discussed that here on the forum at the time but as always, Makerworld picks his own path and rules.
I imported some models from other platform too and linked my account with it. No verification at all until today. But i get your point.
I’ll leave the “oficial” statement from makerworld about it:
The Verification badge is designed for creators with accounts on multiple platforms to authenticate their accounts, as there have been incidents of fake accounts in the past.
During the early stage of the MakerWorld Beta test, we directly contacted some creators and asked them to upload their designs to MakerWorld to enhance the design quality and to expand model quantities. Recently, we have been giving out verification to these creators.
In the future, we will gradually provide this badge to creators who have won a Top 3 award in contests and are consistently active on MakerWorld.
If you wish to apply for the Verification badge, please send the following information to models@makerworld.com:
- Links to your accounts on other 3D printing platforms or social media.
- Add your MakerWorld link to your 3D printing platforms or social media to authenticate your accounts.
We will manually review the applications based on the authenticity of the accounts and the design quality and quantity on MakerWorld, which may take up to 10 business days.

Ah ok weird I didn’t know that the process was more complex. In my case it worked.
That’s good to know. Maybe it takes some time for who does it now. Or maybe they select people based on model number or prints… i don’t know how it works too, but it seems too easy really
In any case, you made me look at your page and will be printing some of your models in the future
I just checked and in my case it was done the same day I linked my printable account and bulk imported all my model (so was probably automated).
Thanks for the check. As a test, i did it all again and imported some models to see if it’s that easy. Thanks again
Linking alone is not enough. I also did this and after the message appeared that the check was successful, I removed the link from the other account in the network. But I have not imported any models. I am also not classified as verified. It also didn’t say anywhere that you have to import models from other platforms to be verified, as happened with Henlor.
