Cannot get passed the please feed filament error

When asking for help, please provide as much information as possible about your inquiry.
Including pictures and detailed information about the printer model, print speeds, filament type and settings used will help get the appropriate solutions.
It is also recommended to include a .3mf file of the model you are trying to print. This ensures the suggestions received will be more accurate.

So to get this out of the way…

  1. I can successfully print if I remove the AMS and print with an external spool
  2. I have tried every color slot - same error
  3. All lights are the right color - green or white. Whatever the color is
  4. I can successfully load the filament

But every time I try to print something using the AMS, I get the error…

“please feed filament into the ptfe tube until it cannot be pushed any farther”

I have not been able to successfully use the AMS not even once since I received the devices several weeks ago.

I received a replacement buffer today and still the same error. I don’t know what else to do at this point

Did you really push the filament all the way into your AMS to feed your printer? If you did feed it properly the filament will feed more filament into the feeding tube. If not then the tube is jammed and clear the jam.

The “please feed filament” message occurs when the printer is expecting filament from the exterior spool. The gcode isn’t calling for filament from the AMS and thus it isn’t loading it.

I guess first let’s start with which printer you have and how your are sending prints to the printer. When we can figure out where the mix-up is.

Sounds like I have the same issue. Just got a new H2S and loaded today and started printing the scrapper and almost completed when I got an error that I needed to load the filament. Tried several times and it starts pushing it and the light comes on and when the filament gets just to the back where it enters the case it backs it all the way out and stops, then after a few seconds the light on the feeder goes out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
