Cannot move Object in Bambu Studio in Z axis

This whole environment makes me chuckle. There is no category for Bambu Studio. Am I in the wrong neighborhood?

This whole concept of objects vs parts vs combined parts is quite interesting and I am sure someone thought it a good idea.

I am trying to make a drink coaster with an image I converted to SVG. The SVG converter broke the image into over 50 parts. When I imported it into BS after creating the coaster base it of course put it on the plate. Good luck on trying to put it on top of the cylinder. I merged all 50 plus parts but still cannot change the Z axis. No problem moving the Z axis on the cylinder.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Go Kendal Bambu coaster 2 objects A.3mf (370.5 KB)

Use by surface when importing the SVG

There is, and yes.

Select both the coaster and the logo.
Right click > Merge
Click the “Assembly” button in the top ribbon, set it to “Face and face assembly”
Click the top face of the coaster to set it to “Face 1 (Fixed)” so the coaster stays in place.
Flip the camera round to under the build plate and click the underneath of the logo (so the side that’s currently sat touching the build plate). It doesn’t really matter which bit you click - I’d go for a big area like one of the weights on the floor.
Click “Center coincidence”

The logo will now be sat on top of the coaster, but probably misaligned in X and Y

Click the Move button in the top ribbon, and click the center align buttons in both X and Y to move the whole object to the middle of the build plate.

Switch to Object view in the left panel and select the logo object (Called “merged parts” in your file).
Click the Move button in the top ribbon and click the center align buttons again to move just this part to the center, which will center align it on the coaster

Wow! Thanks. I’m not nearly that smart. I deleted the SVG then selected the coaster base cylinder and went to the top tool bar and selected “Lay on Face”

then imported the SVG and adjusted the size and that worked.

Thanks
