Can't bind printer..help

bought a used (but never used 0 hour, never turned on) x1c that won’t bind to the app. Keeps saying login failed with error 1020 or 1070.
Had a a1 mini that was connected without issues, got a new ISP and new router and it still worked. The X1c will connect to wifi and have 192.168 IP address. Test connection works. Can connect it to my laptop in LAN only mode but will not bind at all with LAN mode off. The firmware is old enough 1.00 something that it doesn’t have the option for offline firmware updates.

Tried many things on the router. Rebooting both that and the phone, disabling 5ghz band, different channels, tried port forwarding per the wiki. Brought the printer to work and tried that wifi and still same issue. Login failed.
Tried to use my phone as a hot spot but the 3d printer won’t even recognize that SSID

I’m starting to think this is a hardware issue?

Can you update the firmware thru the printer? It might be to old.

Been there done that, no help

Can’t do the firmware without connecting to the cloud. The firmware is old enough that there is no option to update via offline mode off the SD card. Unless there is an option to update from LAN mode but I didn’t see that option yet

I`m just going to assume you read it all ? as i did.

Hmm, was it a real Bambu Labs? Where did you buy it from?

Yes I read it. Unless I’m missing something. It’s on the network, I can ping it but it won’t reach their cloud services

got it used from a guy who never turned it on. waiting on him to send me the paperwork from when he bought it but I think it’s outside the warranty period

Read what? Sometimes people will sell things that look and work like the real product, but services from the real company will not work if it is fake. Sorry that it doesn’t work though…

Didn’t know there were fake x1c printers floating around. If it is it looks identical to the x1c at my work.

I don’t know just a thought…

I would open a support ticket, as it is possible that Bambu has changed their cloud connection in a way that firmware that old can’t connect to it.

sorry its 1.04.01.00 firmware. I did open a ticket but from what I’m reading it takes a few days for a reply. Thanks for the help

That’s more than 2 years old (February 27, 2023), which tells me the printer has been in the box for a while. I got a new X1C about 7 months ago, and it had a much newer firmware version than that (1.07.something).

I have the original paperwork it’s legit. Still no word from support. Looks like I’ll have to use it in LAN only mode which sucks

You could try their live chat.

Just be aware that it works on GMT+8 Shenzhen time, you might need to do it pretty late/early depending on where you live

This was correct. Firmware too old to connect. They are sending a new AP board

New board installed. Waiting on activation

and did you get it working ?
