Trying to send a print through the cloud from my Mac always times out.
This started a couple of weeks ago. At the time there had been an issue with the European cloud, so I thought maybe it was related and switched to LAN mode (I’m in the US, but whatever). It’s been a couple of weeks so I switched back, but the problem is still there.
I can do anything else - view live video, sync filaments, etc. The only thing I can’t do is send the file.
I tried the “network tests”, and the one that failed said “can’t resolve upload-file.bambulab.com”.
There are no updates for Bambu Studio. Nothing has changed on my end (no printer firmware updates, no system updates, etc).
no issue here on the latest mac non-beta in the US just now
That error suggests a DNS lookup failure. Does your network, or maybe your ISP, run aggressive content filtering?
No. I actually have a dedicated system for DNS and DHCP. I’ve been doing this for over 30 years. I don’t rely on my ISP or their router.
sounds like a local network setup issue

Is yours a recent install? I guess I’ll try re-installing from scratch to see what happens. I notice the version I have installed seems to be a Jan 28 build (installed on March 7), and the current download looks like an April 17 build.
installed the latest version shortly after it first became available,
Just grabbing at straws, is your wireless router’s firmware up to date? I know you mentioned all systems were up to date but sometimes it’s easy to forget about the router. Happened to me once and after updating my router things started working again.
Since you’re the network admin, Ensure the printer as a source has outbound WAN permission. It [long?]polls the cloud for the download so it uncomfortably needs a lot of general wan access.
When you click “send/print” or whatever from the slicer on your PC, does the progress bar stall at all, and if so, which step?
Installing the latest version fixed the issue.
I suspect that this is related to the current open source controversy over Orcaslicer accessing the Bambu cloud. Bambu Lab told All3DP “Interim measures have already been implemented. Security will continue to be strengthened in future releases, and we recommend that users update to the latest version in a timely manner.”
If updating is necessary it would be nice if they would actually provide an update. Checking for an update was the first thing I tried.
I understand. I thought it might be DNS related because I too run my own DNS for my home network, using AdGuard Home. I’ve occasionally had services mysteriously break because they were added to a community blocklist.
Glad the issue is resolved.
