Actually, the 3D preview is almost the same as download. It downloads the file and preview it.
just got one catchpa and havent downloaded anything in 24hours … cathcpa on the first model I downloaded this morning… very weird

We will do some optimization to the captcha in next month’s update.
On two previous occasions, I encountered the captcha after downloading fewer than 10 files (perhaps around 6 or 7) within a brief interval, interspersed with page requests.
However, today, I encountered another captcha (same browser, Adblock disabled, same IP for the past 3 months) after performing routine print profile maintenance, with minimal or no rapid interaction preceding it. Notably, this instance occurred on the third download of the day, following approximately 10 hours of inactivity.
I guess you may also 3D previewed the models.
Currently, 3D preview and repeat downloading the same model will be counted sperately, which may be optimized later.
No, I rarely utilize that function and have not done so in any of the situations mentioned previously.
What’s routine print profile maintenance?
I regularly review my models and print profiles to identify opportunities for enhancing titles, descriptions, settings, or refining the model itself.
Does a preview count as a download?
Captcha doesn’t bother me but what does is a daily limit. Every three I DL sends a captcha my way. I DL a lot of files and I do this for my students. My facility does not allow DL’s there so I do it at home. I really do not care about the point system they have for the DL’s but hate when I have to wait 12 to 24 hrs to start DL again.
Batch download may increase the captcha frequency for an account.

My question was: Does a preview count as a download, i.e., if someone previews a model, will the download count of that model increase by 1?
Kind of. I would assume that it doesn’t add an actual download to your stats
It shouldn’t increase the downloant count. But it will be interesting to know from MW if it actually does increase the count, either as an oversight/coding error, or as a counting rule.
In the next month’s update, we will optimize the captcha counter logic. Multiple 3D previews/downloads of the same model will only be counted once (on a day).
If an uploader 3D previews, downloads or prints his or her own models once a day, will that increase the download and print counts? In other words, are uploaders allowed to get a credit of 1 download and 1 print of each of their own models/print profiles per day?
Prints has nothing to do with the captcha.
Please note that this downloads counter (let’s called counter_a) is only used for captcha internally.
It is different from the downloads counter (let’s called counter_b), which is displayed publicly and will contribute to points reward.
