Change default sparse infill pattern?

Has anyone been successful in changing the default sparse infill pattern? I’ve changed the fdm_process_common.json file in the BBL process folder, but it still defaults to grid. I want Gyroid for my default.

Set up a custom profile and use that.

Yes, I already have custom profiles, but I am really hoping hoping to change the default.

I’d recommend just setting up a custom profile, that way you can also adjust the walls and everything in one go. IIRC the json file editing was picky about using caps and spaces, for instance “Cross hatch” infill needed to be entered as “crosshatch” for it to work.

If you do manage to edit the Bambu defaults, they will be overwritten with every Studio update. Custom profiles will not.

How do I go about setting up a custom profile that change the defualt sparse infill pattern?

You set your settings and then hit save and name the preset.

This doesnt change the default, it just creates a user profile for a specific nozzle setting.

Changing the config files as mentioned in the OP will make all processes use that pattern by default unless otherwise specified.
