Hello everyone, please advise, I’m desperate. How do I force BambuStudio to change colors? I used the modifier and it only changed 1 color, the blue still remains and keeps filling in where it shouldn’t. thank you ![]()
Without the model hard to say. If you just used the painting tool in Bambu studio, you maybe just painted the top layer. If the hearts are an own object, you can enforce the red easily.
The model is my own, created in SolidWorks. All necessary elements are created separately (meant as elements, but the model is 1 whole). Imported into BambuStudio via .STEP. In Studio I choose Color painting → Infill → without edge detection.
I tried exporting the body and eyes from SolidW separately and merging them in BambuStudio. The result is the same. The program starts using different colors under the eyes than black ![]()
For example:
I have all the colored parts through the model now. You can see it even when coloring.
The first layer immediately shows that it is really there and from the second it starts to change colors
the fill is suddenly white and uninteresting, while the eyes are supposed to be heart-shaped from bottom to top.
Another interesting thing is that the individual blocks generally keep their shape and do not stretch unnecessarily much, except for the two blue blocks on the head and the torso also went on a trip. But why, if they are created in the same way as the rest??!
And then the main thing, after making it, just focus on the eyes, where under them on the black background (where by the way it should be red now), white and blue shine through on the upper black surface
absolute nonsense.
Why did you not set just the colors for the complete heart in red?

Beside, that this is not optimised…
You are still using the painting tool. But if you would export the hearts as an own object, you can just set red as the color for the complete heart. Than the slicer will not optimize the color run.
Additional step would be, to reduce the heart height to e.g. 3 layer height to reduce printing time (filament changing times). But this is step 2…
I wrote that I did that, but that after merging it still made the same mix of colors. But it is true that I colored it again using the paint tool.
Anyway, another user gave me a great tip → don’t export to .STEP, but to .3mf, that way I can achieve what you say and then color each object separately, without using the paint tool.
After slicing it finally looks like it should <3
Thank you very much ![]()
Oh well, thanks for the hint. I didn’t thought about the export file step, as I do not use this as export file. Good to know, thanks, and perfect, that it is working now!
