Changing colors and number of filaments

I’m still new to 3D printing with my P2S and AMS 2 Pro, my grandkids are always asking for models with multiple colors (I push them to multicolor filaments when I can) but when a model is available no color/plain or 5 or 6 colors, I struggle to get the model to use just the 4 colors in my AMS. The external spool is basically a waste of time for this purpose, since it has to be manually loaded and unloaded and I have no desire to sit and attend that function.

Where can I find detailed instructions on getting just the 4 colors I have available, I understand it will change the model appearance. Sometimes I get the colors correct, but the locations are not the best. I thought sync may help but?

I’m using Studio and Handy App.

You should be able to map the colours of the model to the colours of your printer when synchronizing the filaments. The original parts shows the colours of the model and then you can map them to filaments you have in by choosing the one you want to use in the drop down:

and with the latest version of the bambu app you can even see the final result; the assembly view gives you the result with colour mapping:

Thanks for the quick reply.

I can now see where I was confused - the Original and AMS order… I wasn’t reading it correctly.

This is what I see. I also saw how to remove the external spool inf. When I have finished my current print, I will change spools and attempt the multi-color print and control the color locations.

Have you looked through the Bambu Studio wiki, it has a section on multi color printing.

I hadn’t noticed this section before - thanks.
It has a lot of terms I’m still learning, I had managed to paint a different color ring around a cylinder, but how to control the painting in the areas of the model they use is not clear to me ~ I guess I have to experiment.

Update: I found the colorizing section that makes more sense now.
