Hi Javi,

thank you very much for your incredibly kind offer — that really means a lot

Your Cute Mini Octopus was actually one of the models that immediately caught my eye. I even left a comment under the model on MakerWorld some time ago asking if I could use it for the project. Since I never received a reply, I assumed it might not have reached you or that the answer was probably no. So it’s really good to hear that the comment likely never made it to you.

Thank you as well for sharing your personal perspective as a father. It means a lot to hear that someone who understands these difficult situations sees value in what we are trying to do.

Your support — and the support from the whole maker community here — really means a lot to us.

Thank you again!

Thank you very much for your kind words and support — it truly means a lot to me

I really appreciate MakerWorld highlighting the importance of respecting designers’ licenses and permissions. Making sure every creator is comfortable with how their work is used is very important for this project.

I’m also very grateful for the positive response from the community here. Seeing so many designers willing to help bring a small moment of joy to the children means a lot.

And of course I would be happy to explore the idea of a community contest together if that helps involve even more creators.

Thank you again to the whole MakerWorld team for the support.

Im touched by your initiative, therefore, if my models are of any use, you can use any of them for this project.

Hi Smoggy,

thank you very much, I really appreciate your support

I actually left a comment under one of your models a few days ago asking if I could use it for the project, so it’s really nice to see that you noticed the forum post and joined the discussion here.

Thanks again for being part of this!

Cute animals like cats and dogs are definitely a great idea for the children, so I will keep that in mind when choosing models.

And thank you as well for allowing me to use your designs.

I wanted to share a small update and again say thank you to everyone here for the incredible support

The response from the maker community has been amazing. Seeing so many designers willing to allow their models to be used for this initiative really means a lot.

At the moment I am printing with two printers: the Bambu Lab P1S and my FLSun QQ-S delta printer. The QQ-S currently handles most of the single-color models, although it prints with a 0.2 nozzle, which makes the process a bit slower but allows for very fine details.

Some additional printers that will be part of the setup have not arrived yet, so production is still ramping up step by step. Because of that, progress is a little slower for now.

The first small batch of figures is already finished and more parts are currently being assembled :hammer_and_wrench:

Some of the dinosaurs even have a small spring mechanism in the head so they can actually “bite”, which makes them especially fun for the kids :t_rex:

All the figures shown in the photo — including the moon tealight holder — are models created by members of this amazing community who kindly allowed their designs to be used for the project.

Every small figure is a step forward, and it’s really encouraging to see the first prints coming to life.

Thank you all again for being part of this project

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it! :slightly_smiling_face:

Every model helps, even the small ones. Many of the prints for the Pieksekisten are tiny toys or little figures that can bring a short moment of joy to the kids after difficult treatments.

Your models will of course be properly credited. I’m also documenting designer permissions and profiles on the project website so people can discover the creators behind the prints.

Thank you for supporting the project and for sharing your work with the community!

Hi everyone,

just a small update about the project.

The website for “Thore seine Pieksekisten” is now online and no longer marked as work-in-progress.
It explains the background of the project, the idea behind the Pieksekisten and how the maker community is helping to bring small moments of joy to children at the pediatric oncology day clinic in Augsburg.

The site also documents designer credits and permissions transparently, which was important to me from the beginning.

Thank you again to everyone who has supported the project so far — whether through kind words, model permissions, or simply sharing the idea.

What incredible and amazing work you are doing. Please feel free to use any of my models if they can help bring joy to sick children or bring them closer to God during such difficult moments—it would mean a lot to me.

My deepest condolences for the loss of your son. He is in a better place now, and I will keep his soul in my prayers. :folded_hands:

Hi Sebo3D1,

your welcome! I hope you find a way to use some of them!

make sure to check out hollowmaker | Published - MakerWorld , I’m sure they would be happy to help!

How can we help sir? Are there any certain models you need custom made? Is there a certain genre of model the kids like best? I am not the greatest designer or modeler, but I would love to help you in any way that I can.

Thank you very much for the support and the recommendation!

Unfortunately I’m still below forum level 6, so I can’t send private messages yet due to the anti-spam system.

@hollowmaker – if you see this: Wobbegong recommended you.
I’m running a small charity project for children in the Augsburg pediatric oncology clinic (“Thore seine Pieksekisten”), where we print small toys for the kids.

If it would be okay to print some of your models for the children, I would be very grateful.
Of course we always credit the designers on our website.

Thank you for your amazing work and support!

Thank you very much for offering to help, I really appreciate it.

Some ideas that could work well for the Pieksekisten are:

• 3D puzzles where a figure is created when assembled (for example dinosaurs, unicorns, bears, hearts or other animals). These can be suitable for boys, girls or unisex.

• The size can vary – small or medium models both work.

• Figures where a small LED tealight can be placed inside, so the model becomes a small night light.

Important properties for the models:

• robust prints
• no sharp edges
• safe for children
• encouraging motor skills or small building/assembly tasks
• it can be a little bit challenging or like a small puzzle

The age range in the clinic is very wide.
There are babies and toddlers, but also older children and teenagers. So a mix of simple, cute models and slightly more interesting or interactive ones works best.

Thank you again for wanting to support the project.

I would love to make some night lights. If you could tell me some common themes they like, I will do my best to work with them. Ex: A Dora The Explorer themed night light. I am especially good (or I should say I really enjoy) at creating sci-fi-esk type of products, so if you have anything that fits into those categories, I could easily work on those.

Hi Pascal,

I am incredibly moved by the dedication and care you and your wife are showing to these brave children, and I am very sorry for your loss. I don’t have many suitable models to offer unfortunately, but you do have permission to print any of my models for your cause.

Since you explicitly mentioned dinosaurs and figurines acting as night lights, I did want to show you one model of mine. It is based on a small glass jar that you put a dino model in and fill up with water, and a LED light then shines through from the bottom as if it was a lab device. I can’t post links here but you can find it under “Submerged Dinosaur Lab Incubator - Parametric” on MakerWorld, my username there is ronypepper.
It might not be what you are looking for or a bit too complex, but if you do want to print it, I would be more than happy to make any changes to it you desire, big or small.

In any case, your efforts are truly amazing.
