Hi to you all. I normally dont write in Forums but this time i would like to get an idea if its just me or if the community feels the same.
I bought my H2D May 30 2025. 5 Months later they announce the Vortek System as a new Printer. I felt a little scammed because the H2D was annouced by Bambu Labs as the ultimate 3d Printer with never before seen Features. Dont get me wrong i like my H2D but the H2C is the Printer they really meant.
But they said it will be upgradable. So i said ok no problem.
But now the Price of the H2C which is basicly the price i paid for the H2D.
And the Upgrade kit is 835âŹ. I understand the Price for people who now buy a H2D and later upgrade to the Vortek system.
I just feel like that if you have an H2D Order on your account lets say 2-3 or maybe 5 months after the Release that you should get some sort of discount to buy the Vortek system upgrade kit.
Am i in the wrong with this or is it understandable?
I see now the price, 835⏠after buy a H2D i feel totally scammed.
For the moment iâm out of this upgrade if doesnât make a good price, doesnât make sense and i feel like an idiot nowâŚ
The âUglyâ movement of bambu is the vortex are totally known and in production (late design) and the H2D come with the holes made for the vortex. Say to the buyers this, but no, sell itâs the priority (for all brands).
I bought the Prusa MK2S back then â while it was still on its way, the MK3 came out. So I already had an âoldâ device that hadnât even arrived yet
No chance of an exchange or compensation. I could upgrade to an MK2.5 version for a few pounds less, so I had to pay again for a few printed parts.
My h2d will be delivered the next days. So thinking about Sendung it back⌠I thought like many others that there is a big difference in price. But 350⏠and the Upgrade Kit is 835? I understand the cost of the Upgrade Kit itâs a bunch of stuff but why sell the h2d in bf for that price?
I donât really need the new system but for 350âŹ? I would take it.
Yes because the Price is the Same as the H2D at launch they overpriced it (H2D) by a lot in March and made a lot of money because everybody thought this is the Flagship Printer of 2025 but it wasnât. And now they have a lot of users who wonât buy the exact same Printer just with the Vortex System again. But they have to take a lot of cash to get their average H2D onto a Flagship Level that they thought they bought.
Here we go support it is.
I will keep you posted it cant be a good move to send it back and cause costs. There should be another way. I would pay 450⏠but not 835âŹ. Iam ok with a Little Markup but not nearly 500âŹ
Yeah the pricing is pretty much BS, and the requirement of replacing the AP board is also completely unreasonable. I take this as a huge miss for Bambu.
Except from âreviewersâ, across ALL the real communities where thereâre living people instead of review bots, I donât really see even 10% of positive comment on the H2C or the Vortek upgrade.
The nozzle change time is still too long, the purge tower / prime tower is too big, and they really reduced the printable area for the right nozzle. Not only this, you also have to worry about the prime tower which can significantly negatively affect your printable area againâŚ
Good luck with the competition lol, Imma just gonna get a U1 in addition to my current H2D. That is, if I really need to print that much colorful toys.
If an H2D that has been loved is now hated simply because it is no longer the flagship, then getting an H2C wonât solve the problem because there will be another printer that comes to take away the flagship status.
If I heard it correctly on todayâs streaming, Dr. Tao pointed out two things about H2C that he is not satisfied. One is that it still needs a prime tower, the other is that the selling price has to be hgher than what they wanted. So the next flagship may do away with the prime tower and has even less waste, and it may cost less.
Thatâs exactly what I did. Reviews on it seem to be very good and canât wait to try it out for myself. The Vortek looks nice from an engineering standpoint, but seems like it can fail on multiple points.
I do find it interesting that the H2S upgrade path basically just makes it 40⏠more that buying an H2C outright (obviously you donât get the glass panels and you have to put in the work, but still)
Iâve submitted a ticket to Bambu Lab regarding this. Iâll report back on what they say. Maybe many more H2D owners should do the same.Because as one of the first buyers, no one knew about the H2C yet, and the H2D was presented as the new flagship. And then just a few months later, the H2C is released and then having to pay over âŹ800 again (here in Germany) on top of the original H2D price is really extreme in my opinion.
That exactly. It was already annoying seeing how they went on to release 2 more iterations of the âflagship h2dâ, then release another printer too (p2s), then we saw H2D development and updates being halted (waited months for an update to be just a hotfix) and now they release this and suddenly the flagship we bought 5-6 months ago is not a flagship anymore.
Leaving the issue thatâŚcome on. a new model in the SAME calendar year? really? Talk about planned obsolence⌠imagine if the H2D develeopment was halted before, how its gonna be now that they gonna have to redirect their manpower to support H2C and make a good first impression with the Vortek.
Im extremely disappointed in this strategy honestlyâŚ
I mean, it was the flagship at the time. And âa few months agoâ will be 9 months once it actually gets shipped.
Pricing wise, the space was completely different when the H2D launched. INDX and the U1 werenât a thing so they could price it however they wanted. Now with those becoming available soon (if not already for some), they have to be more aggressive in their pricing.
You also have to consider the economies of scale here. I imagine their manufacturing costs have dropped significantly since the H2D launched. They have also already paid off any R&D cost of the machine. Given how much the H2D/S/C share, they can afford to offer the H2C at a cut. The current H2D Discount is likely to stay or only be raised slightly.
Somewhere in eastern europe there is a James bond style villian in an old soviet block factory cooking up an indexing printer. Thatâs what my eyes are on at this point.
