I didn’t really know where to put this, as the Filament group, at least at first glance, is for Bambu filament.
My issue is that I can’t find a Dark Chocolate Brown ASA filament for an outdoor model. The closest I’ve found, is Overture (too light) and Voxelab Marsala (way too dark). A Google search gives a few doable options overseas, but none I can find in the states.
I am casting a line here in hopes that someone has recently found some or knows of a source. I don’t want to go to a “made to order” source since this is a one time (at least very seldom) specific color need, and the setup fee would put me in the red for the order.
The customer wants this to match an outside wall trim that is Dark Chocolate Brown. They told me over the phone that it was Bronze, I couldn’t find a Bronze outside PLA, so I went to physically look and take a photo for matching. Of course you don’t want to argue with them on color, however their “Bronze” is the outside universe’s Dark Chocolate Brown. Rather than telling them the true color, I will just match it as closely as possible, print it, and they will love their new “Bronze” project.
Any help, suggestions, or guidance is much appreciated!
This Army Brown is actually lighter than the Overture Brown. I ordered both last week and neither are close enough. It’s like right in between the Overture Brown and the Voxelab Marsala.
Yes I have a picture of the sample they gave me, I will post it, but oddly enough, whether it’s the lighting, or my phone camera (iPhone 11), it looks way lighter in the picture than it actually is in the sunlight. In fact, if you just went by the picture, you would be confident that both the Overture and the Army Brown would be perfect matches, but it’s way darker in reality, it is very misleading, but here is that picture.
I didn’t think about it, but when I get off work, I’ll take a picture of the sample and the Overture spool side by side, you will see the contrast and how much darker the sample is.
Oh I gotcha, I may have to just print one with the Overture and see how it turns out. The possibility is there since the items won’t be close to the dark color so it may look just right. Thank you!
