I am a little confused which printer to buy as an successor for my QIDI Plus 4.
Apart from this I have two P1S (if Bigtreetech really comes up with a Klipper conversion I will try for one).
In summer I thought the H2S might be perfect, but a fried has a H2D which works well now after some struggle (and guess firmware updates). He uses it most for PLA/PETG separation layer and to mix TPU with other material. The H2C would be in range (budget), but I think it
would be a waste of money for me as I only print for hobby (RC models, LED Lights with WLED control … ) And the LED Banner Lights are more or less the only big that needs multiple colors but just on a few layers. Some waste is acceptable for me.
Seems I really struggle to make a choice on this selection.
And everything above (H2D, H2C) seems to be more fragile and sensitive. Or am I wrong on that?
No joke, but doesn’t this answer your question? OS is apparently important to you. Why consider a printer that isn’t?
Again, neither machine really seems suited for you, and you seem to have legit hesitation.
In my opinion you are wrong on that, but that doesn’t matter. You are finding reasons that the machines wouldn’t fit your use cases. I would believe either one would lead to buyers remorse. Simply look at the klipper machines that fit your needs, maybe add the new AMS solution BTT has released and go from there. It just doesn’t seem you’d be happy with either machine.
This I would do just for fun. No question I like Klipper, but I don’t like my QIDI Plus 4.
Bambu Labs is the type of printer that just works. And this is very valuable. Even I have
time, I don’t like to waste it with the 3D printer.

You might be right. Maybe I will make a quick decision between H2S and H2D and live with it.
Had more or less the same struggle with my P1S, when all my friends told me that nobody could live without the X1C and I was more than happy with my two P1S.

So why doesn’t the P2S appeal? Is it the bigger volume on the H2* that attracts you?
For sure a H2-series printer - size matters. I am sick of putting a lot of stuff together with glue.
My QIDI Plus 4 is about the right size, but it is not reliable. had to repair the mount of the print head several times. I bought that as a fried did not like it for half the price. A lemon. I have learned from that. Just from the size the H2S would be fien, but H2D would bring a second nozzle to print support layers for better separation quickly. Or to mix materials - have a layer of TPU outside/inside.
I’m stingy and I only complain at the bar, when they charge me 1.60 for a decaf espresso instead of 1.40. That’s when I complain. The H2D, however, I bought it while I was at the bar, 10 minutes after receiving the email that the product was available for sale. Only to then proceed to complain about the coffee price increase. I’ll never give them those extra 20 cents, now I only order regular espresso and I drink my decaf at home at 18 cents per Nespresso pod. Hundreds of euros for my hobbies? No problem 
p.s. : crusader helm coloured are saved 800g,1040 changes, and 2 days of printing rather than a single nozzle printer.
So you had no problems with the H2D so far?
Here (Vienna, Austria) we pay 4-5€ for an Espresso in Coffee shop, so I am in the portafilter
team since 2005. I have an ECM Mechanika III with dual boiler.
Yes I had problems, why lie.
I had a faulty ams heater (left one), they gave me a spare asap
Left hot end wiring baked and wires gave up, they gave me the spare asap.
I think last week there was a mess with the last windows upgrade but they solved it a couple of days ago. imo it was a bambu studio’s side issue, not about the device itself. I still simply printed single color stuff.
The only critic I have they should put better wires between the left nozzle and the board. actuals are insufficient.
If you have the money just get it.
some other considerations, BB devices has no more or less issues than other producers. I bought it just for the dual nozzle but i found a lot of extra value, like all the sensors. I can print and go to sleep. I can’t really do the same while printing with the Kobra 2 without accepting to risk to wake up in the morning and find a destroyed device
I had a Ender 3 (heavily modded) and a CR10 both since around 2020 (right before the lockdowns). When I bought my first BBL P1S I really enjoyed 3D printing. Not just fighting with the printer, adhesion, bad bed leveling. So I bought a second one. Sure also for a new
product like the H2S/D/C there might be something wrong designed, not working, fail.
But so does it for all products. I understand that.
And compared to other companies you get a reply and mostly help from the support.
BambuStudio only struggles on Linux, as I use that there is room for improvement.
When did you buy your H2D? Now there is an additional hotend fan from the H2P that should also be adapted for the H2D? Has that anything to do with the problem you had to much heat)?
You’re overthinking. I never wrote there are “too much heat”, I wrote the left nozzle wires and especially their sheath are insufficient.
I bought the printer in the exact moment I received the newsletter in may.
I now have 2000 hours and a bucket full of purges. as soon it’s really full I’ll post the pic
2000 hours is quiet some time. Is the left nozzle that which moves - right fixed?
That already shows it is working good. My oldest P1S has 1600 hours in 1 1/2 years.
I don’t know what that poster was talking about with wires gone bad or something. Sounds like he might have gotten a blob attack. I’ve never heard anyone complain of wiring problems. So that’s a first for me. My H2D works awesome. I have no problems with it and have 1200h on it. It prints even better than my P1S. The left nozzle moves up and down. In all the time I have printed multicolor I only emptied 2 filament boxes of purge waste.
It is an amazing machine.
I ordered a H2S Combo. Should be sufficiant for me, bigger size - no extra complexity. Just no additional AMS 2 Pro in stock, so I will order that later and live with one of my old AMS. It is anyway no decission for life. So my QIDI Plus 4 may now leave me - a friend is already keen on it. Hope it brings him more joy than me. One P1S is also on the go, as soon this piece is up and running.
