Hi, this morning i woke up to a message warning me that one of my exclusive models was available on other third-party website.
Basically someone cloned my whole account on Makeronline (to get points from them i guess?). I already reported it on Makeronline and opened a ticket on Makerworld, do I actually risk being removed from the exclusive program? Does anyone have experience with removing stolen content from makeronline? I’m a little worried
i have seen this before. if you opened a ticket, you should not get removed
To be clearer, your account has not been cloned.
Someone has used aspects of your account and stolen all your models to populate it.
A ticket to MakerOnline is the correct starting point.
If the message informing you about this came from MakerWorld, I suspect there was more information in it.
They likely told you:
- We found one or more models on site xyz
- You have to contact them to have the models removed
- If you have not heard back after 7 days, provide us with the communication you sent them and we will deal with it
MakerWorld shouldn’t remove you as you are a victim of a crime, unless they believe this is your other account, something you can dispel by sharing the actins and communications you have with MakerOnline.
It is ■■■■, many of us have gone through this many times, with MakerOnline, other 3D hosting services, online market places, Etsy being a big abuser.
