Is the cloud service down? I can’t seem to get anything to print, it gets stuck at 30% when sending to the cloud. I’m sure this is a n00b question, but how can I print locally?
Yes the cloud service is down.
To print locally the easiest way is to save your sliced file to the SD card from the machine.
You can also put your machine in LAN mode but that is a little more involved.
Thank you, was just getting ready to go on the hunt to see why my printer isn’t printing…
Grüß an Allen
You can also use the send function, which will default to LAN mode even if the printer is not in LAN-Only mode.
I didn’t know about that. Will have to try it on next print.
Very interesting, I did not know this.
Wow, that was amazing. I did not know I could print that way.
Thank you so much!!
The BambuLab backend for remote printing is back up and should work again. (The status page still shows it as having a partial outage, but I was able to start prints again.)
No it is still not working
I’m seeing the same as you. Still not working.
For those of you who try this, the printer DOES NOT automatically start the print. It sends the file to the SD card then you need to go start it from the printer. This is still 100% better than running an SD card back and forth, but I thought I would share this as when I tried it I waited and waited for the print to start. Then I checked the sd card on the printer and saw the file there.
It will only place the file on the SD card. You might have success by accessing the SD-Card tab for your printer and starting a print from there, but this appears to be hit-and-miss with the current service issues.
Bambu Studio will also fall back to starting a print over LAN when you can’t reach the Bambu server due to a missing internet connection or if the server returns an error. But for all I can tell, it returns nothing to the sender. They should consider having some kind of timeout that also triggers LAN mode. At least a button to initiate it.
Also, please note that enabling and disabling the LAN-Only mode does not affect the printer’s ability to be used over LAN. The only thing that LAN-Only does is prevent the printer from registering with BambuLabs MQTT servers.
Bambu Studio and any other MQTT client can connect to the printer locally. This will give you the printer status every few seconds and enable you to start prints from the SD card and pause/resume/stop active prints. (And any other function you can do from the device control page in Studio and the HandyApp)
This is very true. I was just so glad that I could print.
Can confirm that this works pretty seamlessly.
I switched to LAN only mode in the printer settings, which took my printer offline in Bambu studio, but it showed up under another name and I could connect to and manage directly.
Print jobs from studio get sent over LAN and I still have full visibility/control of AMS and camera
Morning all. Cloud service is working again for me (UK based if that makes a difference)
Josh
It just got back in service. I was experiencing the same problem. If this happens again, just save you file on SD card and load it into the printer. Thats what I did for the past few days.
Supposedly the cloud is “up” but I STILL cannot send jobs through the cloud service. Neato. Thanks BL
Underrated answer - this is perfect thank you!
