So at almost 2K hours I had a problem after using TPU. Never had any problems at all until studio started nagging about a cold pull before using TPU. I just ignored the warning and noted the annoyance. Well the instructions for doing a cold pull are impossible to achieve due to the minimum 170C requirement to operate the extruder. I have searched and there seems to be nothing but lip service from Bambu about this. Rant off.
I think most of us believe the cold pull pre-TPU is unnecessary.
During a cold pull, the filament is first heated to a normal melt temperature and then allowed to cool. It is still warm and soft when you reverse the extruder, so the warning about the minimum 170 °C nozzle temperature can be disregarded. Just hit Confirm, and complete the cold pull procedure. The warning is just a caution against accidentally operating the extruder with cold, hard filament in it.
Does the X firmware complain when reversing too? Other machines happily will retract at any temp but [correctly] complain when you try to extrude at unheated temps
It doesn’t just warn it disables manual operation of the extruder.
