Color bleeding switch between external and AMS

I hit a color bleeding issue when switching between external feeder and AMS.

I first print some PETG using the external feeder. Then I start a color printing PLA using AMS. The purge volume among PLA filaments in AMS is ok, and I don’t see much color bleeding in the model itself. However for the initial layer, I sometimes see the residue color of the PETG filament I used from external feeder. The prime tower caught most of the bleed, but sometimes it also got into the model itself.

Is there way to control and let it flush more before the model print?

If you load and unload the filament a couple times before the print you will get more flush cycles.

Loading/unloading a couple of time is indeed an option.

It appear also that I can’t load/unload AMS from P1S control panel, and I have to go back to BambuStudio to do that.

Another option is to add a skirt to the part you are printing. By adding to the skirt size you can adjust hot much extra filament if purged before starting the part.

This sounds a good idea. Thank you for the suggestion.
