Coloring and cuting in Bambu Studio

Has anyone up to this point heard from BambuLab if they are working on the longstanding issue with cutting a part in Bambu tudio after its been colored? As an example I recently downloaded a colored figurine off of Makerworld and without thinking decided the base was a tad too big and wanted to save time and filament so I cut the base in half height wise (perfectly acceptable still from a stability standpoint) But then upon doing that the colors are obviously all lost and the model still reverts to single color. Is there a place where we can list this as a request for features in Bambu Studio? Or have they announced they are working on it (cant find it if so)

I guess noone has heard anything. You would think it could be a feature but I guess not

How they store the data of what is colored on what surface becomes invalid when the geometry changes. It’s a rewrite of some things likely. We shall see if it ever gets prioritized. Even orca/prusa etc all fail in the same regard and is a 3mf level data problem
