Coloring models look fractured

I’ve had this issue coloring models and downloading precolored 3mf files. What causes this?

Is that how it looks when you print it, or just in the slicer? I vaguely recall having prints look like that in the print preview on bambu handy, but it always came out fine in the actual print.

Try checking the edge detection box and see what happens.

I’ve had this happen and sometimes that will fix it.

This is not a problem.

This is the result of seeing multiple different parts that overlap each other with different colours.

When you slice, and view using filament view, you will see the result.

If you are not seeing the colours colouring exactly as you hoped, change the part order in the object list view so they are background (top) to foreground (bottom) ordering.

If that doesn’t make sense, just drag one part to the bottom and resource, you will see it covers everything else as it is deemed the most important. Just repeat until it all shows as you hoped.

Update

I have noticed you painted the model.

Just slice it and the preview should show you as you hoped.

Thanks, I’ll check that out. I was just wondering because I don’t remember it looking like that previously when I was coloring a model. It was all a solid color. I figured maybe it had something to do with the color layers.

I’ve tried a couple other models I have and you can color them normally. Why would some do that and some have that look like above?

The 3MF version of this model printed (also looked fractured), but it printed the colors in the wrong areas. The picture above was me attempting to color it myself and maybe force the correct colors.
