I found an “odd” behaviour of the software.
I wanted to add a translucent window to the cyberbrick remote cover so I am able to see if the remote is on or off via the light shining through.
I chose “sphere” as tool of choice assuming that if I put an object through my object it would apply the filament all the way through. To my suprise, I only get one outer layer of the filament. I would have expected this, if I chose circle.
The oddest thing here is that if I apply the sphere to the corner of the model, it does in fact color through - also visible in the slicer.
What am I doing wrong?

Nothing wrong, that’s just pretty much how colors are applied to a model in general. You could probably forcibly achieve what you want, but there may be an easier way.
Instead of painting the “window,” add a new “primitive” cylinder shape to the model (right-click on the model itself to add one). Then scale/rotate and position the cylinder so it goes through the model, where you want the window. After that, r-click the cylinder part and change it’s “type” to a “modifier.” Finally, for the modifier part only, choose your translucent filament. Slice and check the result!
If this is something you may need to repeat more than once, it may save time in the long run to do it in CAD/mesh editor (eg. Meshmixer) instead of the slicer. Or if you’re designing the part yourself in the first place, of course.

Thanks for your reply Max, but I would not necessarily call this an easier way.
why would you say that this is the expected behavior? If I choose sphere, I would expect the coloring going through the object ( as it does on the sides of the object).
Similarly, I am ok with „circle“ just doing the walls…Is there a way to do that with the coloring mode of the slicer ( as this works be the fastest to do modifications…)
Well, it’s “easier” because that’s doing what the tools are designed to do. Painting is really meant to apply to surfaces, and even if both sides of a wall are painted, there’s typically going to be some “base color” between them, or angling in from the sides, which also helps integrate the filaments together for strength (IOW, usually a good thing). When paint is being applied to a model, the slicer is creating new model “parts” automatically, behind the scenes, then applying filament to those new parts (this is especially obvious when in wireframe view of the paint tool). Basically on a “best guess” basis. Creating the part(s) oneself removes any ambiguity.
I agree with your point that a sphere tool should be creating a “hole” all the way through, or that one may expect that. And there may indeed be a way to force that behavior… I can’t tell exactly what it is doing now from the shots and description. But ultimately that’s not really the design intent of the paint tool, at least from what I’ve observed/experienced.
