im not sure if i have bad luck so far but the first few prints i did with the new PETG Basic in combination with PETG HF has caused some defects on my Prints, the prime towers get destroyed by small print blobs and i am not sure why it happened, does anyone else have experience with it?
both fillaments have been dried for 12 Hours at 65°C
Why are you trying to mix the two?
They are not going mix great. They will stick together, but the surface finishes and parameters are going to be very different.
Edit: im complaining more about visual differences and less about print defects.
because i bought PETG Basic for something and had PETG HF still on a spool and i asked the Bambulab AI and they were like yeah its gonna work fine so i went ahead and started printing with these 2
i have the same color also in PETG basic but i wanted to use my HF spool first
I too would have assumed that they work flawlessly together. I probably wouldn’t even have thought about it. So I find it very surprising and I’m wondering if the problem came from something else?
It is news to me that some have trouble with the combo. I’ve printed quite a few mixed parts; here’s a mix of a generic purple PETG and Sunlu PETG HF white:

This sounds like a “your mileage may vary” topic.
Would be helpful if you could upload a picture or two of what you are seeing. Is it possible that one of the filaments has insufficient retraction and purging during filament changes and is getting left in the nozzle?

I have mixed these two filaments and it does work, but they were both Bambu branded.
However they have differenet material strengths and print speeds, so … just becuase you can do someting does not mean that you should.
If you want for example a dull colour aeroplane and a shiny glossy cockit canopy, make them separate parts.

i printed this clock and the marked areas show defects, i sadly already threw the prime tower away so i cannot show those defects
so after seeing a tip from bambu studio, it says that PETG Basic has higher schrinking rates
maybe there is the issue
