Communication Link Times Out!

I have a Cyberbrick remote and one vehicle that have been working fine. Since the latest updates, I CAN connect to the modules using Bluetooth or USB-C but when I try to update the configuration, I get a time out error and they won’t update. I am using the Cyberbrick app on a Win11 PC. I have tried Li battery and fresh Alkaline. None of my modules will update now. I even tried a new transmitter module and it does the same thing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Cyberbrick app on the PC without effect. Is this a software issue? Is anyone else seeing this? I dare you to update your modules and see what happens…

Have you tried changing to a different project configuration? Could you post a screenshot of your error?

Yes, several configurations. Even one from scratch.
The error is “Communication Timeout. Please try again.” Not sure a pic of that is useful.
When I connect, the device light flashes green (normal) then goes solid blue, then I get the error after about 20 sec. This happens with all 4 devices I own.
Keep in mind, this worked successfully from this PC several days ago.

I am not at all sure it is update related. I suspect a Bluetooth problem on this PC but I did not change any settings before it failed. I have since played with BT settigns without effect.

Your second image shows the Bluetooth device was found. This would indicate that the problem is not Bluetooth related.

In case there is an issue there, do this simple process.

Restart Bluetooth

  • Toggle Bluetooth off
  • Wait at least 60 seconds
  • Turn it back on.

Retry.

If this fails, restart the computer

  • Turn off the computer and wait until the computer is completely off, if you are on a laptop, do not enter sleep or hibernation mode.
  • Wait at least five minutes (allows all power supplies to dissipate any residual charge, not related to batteries).
  • Turn it back on

Retry.

If this fails, download the very latest version of the desktop CyberBrick app.

Retry.

If this fails, install the latest CyberBrick mobile app (Android or iOS).

Try to find a device on that instead.

The idea is to rule things out, which are commonly, turn it off and on again and using the latest versions.

Report back.

In Follow Up: An automatic update from Bambu fixed the problem.
They bricked it with 0.2.0 and then fixed it with 0.2.1
