Community Photo Contribution System (with rewards)

Hello,

I have an idea that could improve model pages and help creators get more visibility.

Concept:

Allow users to upload high-quality photos of models they printed. The model creator can then choose to feature these photos on their model page.

Key features:

Users can submit their own photos after printing a model

The creator can accept or reject submitted photos

If a photo is selected and featured, the contributor earns points (or rewards)

A “Top Community Photos” section could highlight the best prints

Benefits:

Better presentation for models (higher quality photos)

More engagement from the community

Motivation for users to make clean, high-quality prints

More downloads for creators thanks to improved visuals

This creates a win-win system: creators get better photos, and users are rewarded for contributing.

Thanks for considering this idea!

Creality Cloud just started doing something like this. It’s not as involved as what you suggest. You just get 10 points for uploading a photo comment on up to 5 models per day, provided you have downloaded those models.

I’m not trying to rain on your parade, but any new way to make points must be evaluated on how open it is to exploitation. You have to also consider how much extra work it might create for MW employees. Rules will be put in place, and people will break them. Reports will be filed, and then someone will have to deal with that.

AI is a suitable first someone, in this case.

This whole scheme of outsourced pictures might help people/user/browsers, but I dont think it has any place in rules or moderation. I really dont think you should offload the responsibility of photographing real prints of models away from the real uploader. Every party can then point to each other as being “in the wrong.” Systems designed like this thrash themselves to death

While I like the principle, it should be the designer supplying their evidence of their design successfully printing in their printer.

If they don’t, they are not playing their part.

I am aware this is not the sole reason for the suggestion, but it will have an unforeseen side effect.

The photos from users have value, I especially like seeing their colour choices. Should this feature move forward they should be presented as a distinct feature rather than blended with the designer’s own photos.

I like the idea, but it’s a point farming hole. If the reward points are taken from the designers that would avoid the farming.

Great idea! I dont have a good cam and the pictures are hmm… when other people could give me pictures it would help me much!
