I know we’ve had 2 threads complaining already, so how about an improvement one?

Auto translation of posts or ability to filter out posts in languages user doesn’t know. Rationale: While I do know some German, the amount of posts in german is just tad too high for me. And I don’t really speak French… I know some people are more comfortable expressing themselves in their own language, but I’d like to be able to understand posts I’m seeing on international site
Ability to filter out users without blocking them. Rationale: Some users do like the community tab a bit too much. They aren’t breaking any rules, nor do I want them unable to interact with me, I just find it hard to navigate community “for you” tab where I have to scroll through dozens of posts of single user to spot posts of others.
Ability to filter out certain words. Rationale: while actions like “boost for boost” are prohibited by the community guidelines, there’s nothing stopping people to beg for boosts like there’s no tomorrow and their life depends on them. Another is “Skadis” - I’m glad that IKEA came up with nice design, however I really prefer Multiboard Ability to filter that “noise” out could help with usability of community “for you” tab overall.
My suggestion would definitely be to add a checkbox to inform ppl that have downloaded your model, that you have added a part or addon to the existing one so they can see that hey, my barbie doll can now have 2 hands instead of one.
On another note and a bit in line what @PrinterMcgee suggested: Currently users with level below 7 cannot use in-platform DMs to contact people and AFAIK that’s an anti-spam measure.
I strongly suggest also minimum level 7 to be able to post new items to community (except from model upload form).
Also - a level-dependent access to features would do wonders. There’s no reason for lvl1 user with no models to be able to post a silly poll. Same goes for images and especially links to external sites.
And worst combo - I doubt anybody should be able to post an external link, an image and a poll on same post. That simply goes too far. So maybe have a requirement of combined levels to combine posting features on community tab?
I hope others have good ideas (like the ones above) for community tab and @MakerWorld will implement at least some
We are aware of the inconvenient that the community tab has caused to all guide abiding users. We are aware that a certain number of users abuses the boost system, manipulate downloads by teaching other users how can they do it and also cause the community tab to become a spam network.
We are not ok with the situation and rest assured that we will do everything that we can to change the situation and, if needed, punish those said repeated abusers.
Don’t worry, we at Makerworld are proud of what we accomplished and won’t deceive our users, that made us what we are today.
We will not tolerate any abuses and our staff is going to be more preemptive about the situation in the following days.
Community tab in January:
now on the serious side. Agree with everything. The Block function should work just for the community tab because of the same situation i explained in another topic. Other than that, can’t think of anything more
so - if I have this correct, the community page should be for sharing makes of other people’s models first and for self-promotion second.
Hmmm… I’d have an idea to streamline the suggested usage and it’d be in line with many-times-already suggested aility to boost when rating but then I can image a lot of spammy use of that so i guess I’m gonna keep it to myself for now. That is – untill there comes a day when I wouldn’t want to report/block a poster on “for you” page
I came to the same conclusion, reading it, but uh…the easiest/most obvious path to post to community is from the new model upload, when you upload them.
If they’re looking to encourage more sharing of others work, they may need to provide a more obvious way to share that specifically lol. It probably won’t happen organically.
