Community Tab Repost Spam

There’s 68 posts as of right now, probably more by the time I finish this sentence.

Of course, there’s also this guy with 305 posts.

Very much of the same thing, but even more, somehow.

This user is starting to do the same, but not as bad yet.

There’s more too.

@MakerWorld, it’d be nice if you just banned them (at least from the community tab) instead of making us block them or report each post. Or add spam filters and prohibit constant reposting of your own posts.

If that isn’t SPAM, I don’t know what is.

Yeah, it really seems to have gotten worse since the update a few days ago. I even saw a few users posting referral links to their makeronline accounts. :-1:

That’s bad… I mean right now it’s over run by human spammers that are asking for boosts but that’s a real bot. If MW doesn’t do more to stop automated sign ups the community tab will be so full of ads for Ugg Boots and fake Raybans we’ll actually miss the 3D print related spam.

Yeah that’s going to be super annoying if that happens

They really blow my mind… they denied my report of that spammer. They removed the community post but they left the account even though the bio is that same spam about Canon printers… and the profile has a link to their site. They must be trying to inflate their “user count” regardless of if they are real members or not.

Yep, that would do it. I reported as well, but the reporting system is so vague that I didn’t get a notice of anything. A dashboard that lists all previous reports of accounts and users would be nice. It could have the report target, an option to edit/delete it, the status (accepted, denied, or pending), and anything else relevant. Also maybe a reason why the report was declined would be nice, and notifying everyone who made the report, not just the first.

Maybe if they moderated the platform would be better and more users would join :exploding_head:

I asked for this months ago, as with almost all other requests to aid our helping them do their job, it went unanswered.

Better luck this time with yours.

There are now dozens of these posts with just the hashtag and no content. Maybe have a minimum character length and don’t count hashtags? There’s also loads of irrelevant and spammy posts using the hashtag.

I’m not going to report all of these, and I shouldn’t need to. Start being pro-active moderators, please.

Your Christmas wish that will fall on deaf ears yet again.

Come on now, this is relevant information we NEED to know. :man_facepalming:

Yeah I’ve been up at night worried about which one will win :grimacing: Meanwhile they’ve been up at night not listening to my reports. :expressionless:

Given it is MakerWorld/Bambu Lab that essentially pushes people to publish it, you are on a hiding to nothing on that one.

I am not saying you are wrong though.

Here’s some more, this guy posts a photo of his A1M, then keeps reposting this guy’s spam. Looks suspicious to me, but he says he boosted spam guy and spam guy told him to use Tinkercad so maybe it’s legit? Either way spam guy is definitely spamming. @MakerWorld, can you write an addition to the guidelines to prevent begging for boosts? It’s really making the community tab a bad place to be.

That one takes the cake. Going by the bio and the pictures they are 8 year old brothers who are starting a business? This is the kicker, he’s asking for boosts on one of the accounts and has NO MODELS lol.
