Connecting multiple AMS units

Hi,
I’d like to buy another AMS 2 Pro and an AMS HT during Black Friday.
I currently have one AMS 2 Pro connected to the right extruder.
I’d like to connect a second AMS to the left extruder, and also connect the AMS HT to the right one.

From what I understand, I need to buy this:

But I’m wondering — if I buy two adapters, one for the left extruder as well — would it still be possible to manually feed filament into the extruder through the remaining free connection?

Yes it would

And it has to be set up somehow specifically or how do I tell the printer that I now want to bring in filament from an external source?

In the filament menu, there is an External spool that’s always showing, which you edit as necessary for what the manually fed filament is.

Does anyone else think using a 4-in-1 is a cheesy way of setting up multiple AMS? I’m surprised that Bambu would not have designed something more advanced than hanging a splitter off of a short piece of PTEG.

Sometimes the simplest option is the best

That’s a good point. I should have thought of it myself!
