Is it not possible to add connectors when part of an object is outside the plate, even if the connectors are placed on the part of the object that is within the plate edges? I think u can cut but getting an error when tried to create connectors.
If the non-target male half is over the plate, the other plate (the female) disappears. No way to brig that back over the pate so both sides are over the plate?
Exactly, the factor that makes it fit on the plate.
For simplicity’s sake, I would use something like 50% / 25% / etc.
This makes it easier to calculate your connectors: if you want connectors with a diameter of 10 mm, then 50% would be 5 mm and 25% would be 2.5 mm. You shouldn’t use any weird numbers, though, because that’ll just cause trouble if you want it to be accurate.
It is important to reduce the size of the entire object, not just one or two axis. After that, you enlarge it evenly again.
Edit: If you want to save yourself the hassle with the connectors next time, just use negative cubes and positive cubes. Then you can place them outside the printer plates and adjust them however you want.
