Constantly getting extrusion error/filament stuck issue. Retry loads of time and give it a helping hand by pushing the filament sort of works eventually.
Self-diagnosed it as somesort of TH Board error, so ordered replacement. Before fitting it I decided to replace the PTFE tube to te extruder ( Been there since Kickstarter). Found this:
In fact I almost had to rip the PTFE out of the extruder it was stuck in there. Anyway I replaced the PTFE and started working properly immediately. (At least so far…)
That’s interesting, it sounds like all of your issues were caused by the pneumatic fitting that holds the end of the PTFE tubing was adding enough resistance to the filament being fed, which would explain your extrusion issues. It has definitely worn down that tubing enough to do something like this.
In the future I’d recommend every once in a while cutting off the end of the tubing just above where it’s being worn down. You need to get a relatively flush cut, so use tubing cutters if you have to (or design and print something to line up the cut)
I think this is unavoidable because the fitting is designed to allow the tubing to spin, and when it spins it wears down on the edges.
Another thing that helps is making a tool that makes it a bit easier to remove the tubing. If you pull the tubing while it’s locked in the fitting, this can get the metal jaws of the fitting stuck in the tubing and then it’s quite hard to remove. Happy to share if you want the model, but I’m sure you can find better ones on Makerworld
